In a sea of ski goggle-style AR headsets, OPPO's 2nd generation Air Glass is slim enough to be mistaken for real glasses. However, if you look closely, you'll notice a reflective display cleverly hidden in the eyepiece. Air Glass 2 is an Assisted Reality wearable with two displays, one in each eyepiece. The operation of these displays is based on MicroLEDs built into the frame, projecting images onto his SRG diffractive optical waveguide lens made of resin jointly developed by OPPO and Meta-Bounds. Lighter, more impact resistant and safer, these new lenses fit consumers' daily eyewear habits and are a perfect match for the Air Glasses 2.
The eyepieces are visually represented by a 0.13-inch green Micro LED display built into the side of the goggles, capable of outputting 1,000 nits per eye. All hardware features a magnesium-lithium alloy outer structure and weighs just 38 grams, about 8 grams heavier than its predecessor, but with double the engineering. Its lightweight design also means that Air Glass 2 cannot be used as a standalone wearable. It must be wirelessly connected to your smartphone and can stream data to your eyepiece to display navigation data, live translations, calendar notifications, weather forecasts, fitness tracking data and other records.
