Parts 4 & 5 of my Beyblade review are back, and the 2 strikes on my channel are gone.

Shoutout to ADK Emotions & Molebeat for wasting my time, YouTube's time, and your time by misusing YT's copyright cooperation to block fair use reviews and almost have my channel terminated.

For the record, ADK not just doubled but tripled down. This was not an automation mistake. They first CLAIMED Part 5, taking the revenue but not removing the video. After I sent an appeal, explaining in EN & JP that my video was a fair use review, they responded by having YouTube take down the review entirely.

I then had the option to file a counter notification, insisting to YouTube that my video is fair use criticism and commentary.

ADK / Molebeat had ten US business days to respond, and all I could do was wait it out. But that's not all...On day 1 of the 10 day countdown, they did not respond to the counter notification directly, but instead struck down a second one of my reviews (part 4). Maybe this was unrelated, but personally I could not help but feel this was some kind of retaliation.

On YouTube, it's 3 strikes you're out. Channel gets terminated after 3. While I disputed strike 1, they gave me a 2nd. It felt TO ME like they were trying to get my channel terminated before the 10 days expired. I temporarily privated my other Beyblade reviews so that they had no way of giving me more strikes.

To be fair, it's entirely possible none of this crossed their minds, and there was no malicious intent. Just a desk job guy at Molebeat / ADK striking any video he saw featuring Beyblade footage. This is problematic in its own way, of course.

The reviews are back (for now?) and I plan to finish series 1 using video footage, which I have every right to do courtesy of fair use laws that Google adhere to.

However IF I do V-Force reviews, G Revolution reviews, it will almost certainly be screenshots only just to avoid this headache.

So...YOU get an inferior product and I don't get to stretch my creative editing legs. All because ADK/Molebeat don't understand the difference between 'a review that shows the thing its criticizing to make its points' and copyright violation🙃

Small update: if it feels like it's been forever since my last Beyblade review, I agree! I still have to wait until At least May 28th for the two strikes on my channel to be removed, and for my videos to be reinstated. At that time I will also make reviews 1-3 public again.

I will then have to monitor things for the next few days to see if ADK Emotions & Molebeat are going to try and strike my reviews AGAIN. Team YouTube will not confirm for me whether they deny or allow additional attempts at striking the same video twice. This is frustrating.

Best case scenario, the Beyblade Part 6 FINALE Review will go live on Sunday June 2nd at the earliest. But that is dependent on how ADK Emotions & Molebeat respond to YouTube reinstating my videos around May 28th.

CHANNEL UPDATE. Please read! It pains me to to do this, but I’ve temporarily privated parts 1-3 of my Beyblade review series after ADK Emotions and Molebeat forced YouTube to take down part five AND FOUR of the review series, resulting in two copyright strikes on my channel.

I am disputing these, but 3 copyright strikes means the total termination of your channel. 3 strikes would be catastrophic, and I cannot give ADK Emotions & Molebeat the ammunition to destroy the channel.

Until strikes 1 and 2 are removed and those videos are reinstated (it will take 10 U.S. business days), the responsible thing for me to do is to temporarily delist the other videos. I know this is a temporary win for these entities that are blatantly ignoring YouTube’s fair use policies, but it’s what I need to do as a responsible channel owner.

I have plans to put out something cool later this week featuring the audio of the first three reviews, with a special video element I don’t want to spoil yet. It will not feature any footage from the series, and if ADK Emotions and Molebeat strike this new video, all they’ll be doing is proving to YouTube that they are misusing the copyright ID system and can face penalty from YouTube.

Thanks for your support. There was such great momentum happening with the channel as new viewers joined me on these retrospective reviews of the media we grew up on. This is an unfortunate bump in the road needlessly caused by a corporation having complete disregard for YouTube’s position on fair use.

The finale review is coming.
I want to review V Force & beyond.
ADK Emotions & Molebeat are making that very difficult.

The Black Dranzer Arc Review (Beyblade Review Part 5) has been taken off YouTube due to a copyright claimant not accepting my appeal that the video should be protected under fair use for criticism and commentary.

The earliest it will be back up is 10 business days. Frustrating but out of my control. Will probably affect the release date of the part 6 finale review as I don’t want to pour 100% effort and time into the video while my last one’s fate is still in limbo.

Pending any breaking news, here's what I have coming up next...

• Short Dragon Ball DAIMA theory (experimental)
• Beyblade Series 1 FINAL ARC review
• Digimon video

Don't know why I felt compelled to share a ROADMAP, lol, just want people to know I'm not ditching Digimon!

re: Dragon Ball, I'm a massive fan and feel inspired to talk about my hopes for Daima. Also, with my Beyblade videos attracting a lot of new viewers (thank you), I want to make sure I don't become known as 'that BEYBLADE channel'

I feel I successfully transitioned out of being 'JUST a Digimon' account, and it would be a shame if after that uphill battle, I got boxed in again and am now seen as a BLADEtuber lol

We've been incredibly fortunate to have so much Digimon content over the last few years.

I'm glad I found my way back to Digimon in 2020 and got to connect with so many fellow fans online. What a journey it's been!
