The A1+ Factory, a new addition to the A1 Plant, a plant dedicated to the integrated production of ultra-precision parts, is in operation since 2022. 1,600 solar panels have been installed on the entire roof of this new factory (total floor area: 5,500 m3). All of the generated power will be used within the A1 Factory.
The A1+ Factory is also fully equipped with high-standard environmental sanitation facilities as a measure against oil mist. The ASK* learning center has also been established within the factory to train new human resources in manufacturing and boasts rooms for classroom lectures and machining equipment for hands-on learning, creating an environment for the development of practical skills. By clearly documenting the skill and know-how of our experienced engineers and providing intensive training in both theory and practical work, we are now able to train young employees into highly skilled engineers more quickly.

NSK’s headquarters R&D center (RD1) is equipped to serve a headquarters function and a research and development function to achieve efficient operations. We have created an environment to make it easier for development designers to work assisted by state-of-the-art equipment.
The exterior wall of the building is covered with “Sigma” environmental control panels, made from special-order aluminum extrusion to protect the structure of the building. These Sigma panels incorporate external insulation layers and natural ventilation devices, helping to control the environment both inside and outside the building and guarantee a comfortable internal environment. They also contribute to significant reductions in energyconsumption.
It is surrounded by a beautiful natural environment—including the Nikko mountain range, Mt. Fukaiwa and the Oashi River—and strikes a harmony with Kanuma’s scenery, which changes with the four seasons.
