✨ Is your bead bag too soft and not holding its shape? Many of you have asked about this on comments! Before we dive into solutions, make sure you’re using the Thread-Back Method (to hide the knot) (where both threads pass back through beads to form a secure knot) rather than simply crossing threads. If so, here are some tips to help!
1️⃣ Match your thread thickness to your bead size!
For example:
0.4mm fishing line → 6mm beads
0.5mm fishing line → 8mm beads
(This is how we pair them in our shop!)
2️⃣ Always hide your knots inside the beads!
Make sure the knot is fully concealed inside a bead—never leave it exposed. An exposed knot can make the structure weak.
💡 Pro tip: Even though glass beads are industrial products, hole sizes may vary slightly between batches. When hiding a knot, choose a bead with a slightly larger hole!
📸 The stunning photo below shows a piece by my French friend Nathalie. After her first attempt didn’t turn out as expected, she patiently took everything apart and tried again—her second try was absolutely perfect!
🎨 Beading can be tiring yet relaxing—and incredibly rewarding! I hope you all enjoy the process.
Due to some recent changes in my work, I haven’t been able to post as often, but I’m finally getting back into beading again! If you have any questions about handmade bead bags or zircon bracelet tutorials, feel free to leave a comment—I’ll do my best to help!
