Hey everyone, AL here.

Hope everyone is doing well.

We wanted to respectfully let our subscribers know first, that our previous video-

Girls Standing In The Middle of Tokyo to Sell Themselves.. Japan Has A Serious Developing Problem.

will soon be deleted, and be re-uploaded in a few hours after some revisions on the content that will make the video suitable for runnings Ads.

This is as many of you may already know, although the video received more than 1.3 million views at this point (thank you all for watching), we could not monetize any of it due to the demonetization of the video.

And although we initially chose not to re-upload our video as some of our subscribers have suggested, from this point onwards, we will delete, revise and re-upload the demonetized videos as done by many other YouTubers, as soon as we get the demonetization flag.

Our Channel is stuck algorithmically at the moment. We are currently undergoing a phenomenon where the majority of our videos come from returning subscribers, which can be interpreted as both good and bad.

It is good in that many viewers who come across our videos enjoy our content, and are here to stay.

But the majority of views mostly coming from returning subscribers can also be a bad sign in that our Channel is almost like an isolated island, where new viewers (unsubscribed) do not receive much exposure to our content.

And after research, we have discovered that having videos on the channel in which Youtube has given the yellow (demonetization) flag for not being suitable for Ads, may have a negative impact on the exposure of the Channel to the larger audience, turning it into more of a niche channel.

We spend so much of our time and energy in creating original content (I dare say original, because we really do go out of our way to make sure that our videos are not of content that is repeated around on the English-speaking side of Youtube),

and as much as passion is what is driving us as of current without much compensation, we really cannot continue on with our Youtube journey with the current algorithm exposure that we have been having, so am attempting to do everything that we can in the hopes of fixing this.

So we appreciate your understanding, and if you can, please click the like button on the re-uploaded video once it goes live tomorrow. It would really help our channel a lot, and make the content in which we have spent so much time and energy creating, not go to waste.

Thank you.

Hey everyone, Al here. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

We unfortunately have to let you guy’s know on some sad news.

Our video,

[Girls Standing In The Middle of Tokyo to Sell Themselves.. Japan Has A Serious Developing Problem.]

that was thankfully picking up steam as a result of much love and attention from you guys,

has been demonetized.

As full-time YouTubers who are trying to make a living from the endeavor, this is ineffably frustrating for several reasons.

Before every video is published, Youtube already goes through an extensive, multiple-hour check-up on the “Ad Friendliness” of the video.

And our video, as many of you guys who have watched the video already know, cannot be more cleaner when you compare it to other videos on Youtube that discuss similar themes. Literally cannot be any more cleaner, and be presented more professionally.

Youtube obviously thought so as well initially, and have thus marked the video as “Ad Friendly” after their multiple-hour check up.

But then, as soon as the video starts to pick up some algorithmic steam, meaning that the platform now has to pay us equivalent level of Ad revenue tantamount to the views, which in this video’s case was probably becoming larger than what they would have liked,

they suddenly decide to demonetize the video, without any explanation.

I mean, on their end, it’s a great business strategy. Have a well-made video that many people like and stay engaged on, still remain uploaded on the platform, without having to pay the creators.

But for the creators, this is just frustrating beyond measure.

We are not even talking any significant financial sums here- for a small channel like us, when we say, “decent Ad revenue”,

it literally means in the $10+ range, where we can actually start to buy a meal with the Ad revenue.

And it is not the first time that this has happened to us, as we had similar instances before with other videos that were all initially checked upon as Ad Friendly after the multi-hour checkup,

all for it to just be eventually demonetized, without any explanation, as soon as the video begins to take off algorithmically.

We do not have the power of the 100+k true crime channels, or journalism channels that rally their subscribers to file mass complaints on Twitter to Youtube, whenever one of their videos have been unfairly demonetized.

So again, as much as we attempt our very best to stay positive and keep going, if we say that there is no sense of despair hitting us at the moment, we would also be lying.

The reason why there has not been a video uploaded for around a month, by the way, is due to us creating the longest documentary we have ever created, simultaneously while Helen, who is responsible for the beautiful editing and thumbnails that you see on our channel, has been going through some health complications, meaning that I’m diligently learning my way into the fancy Youtube editing, and thumbnail making, along with the video idea generation, scripting, recording, subtitling, audio effect selection, etc, that I was previously responsible of.

So for our wonderful subscribers who always support us with the likes and the comments- please give us a few more days for the next video to be uploaded.

And if you would like to continue to support us in our journey in revealing the real Japan and South Korea- the dimensions that you will never see shown or discussed in the conventional Disney-like depictions of the two nations,

we would be more than grateful if you guys could consider purchasing our book, or consider sending us a Super Thanks on the demonetized videos if you have enjoyed the content.

In fact, we would like to take the moment to thank one of our subscribers, K C, for recently sending us with a Super Thanks on the “Girls Standing In The Middle of Tokyo to Sell Themselves.. Japan Has A Serious Developing Problem.” video.

With that said guys, a sincere thank you for reading this long post, as I just wanted to share my heart out to someone out there, with all of the recent happenings.

Hope you have a good weekend, and we’ll be back soon, with the longest documentary ever posted on our channel.
