Hey Chess Youtube! I am in the process of making some BIG changes to my channel. In the next few days I will start live streaming my normal video recaps, so you will have the option of watching me live, or the regular videos that will be reposted from my live stream. Also, I will be live streaming my own online games very soon, likely sometime this month. I tested the live stream feature today but my settings were off, so I will try again tomorrow. Lookig forward to connecting with you guys live!

This is obviously not the final product, but the server will be here to connect with me and give you guys a better place to offer me suggestions for how to improve my videos. I'm getting a lot of feedback that I need to improve my titles and make them less "clickbaity" so I will be working on that, but other feedback is also welcome!

Hey everyone! I'm going to be responding to comments in about 4 hours, I ran out of time last night to get to everyone. As always if you want to connect with me, the easiest way is just commenting on my latest videos and I'll get back to you!
Also, I'm playing around with different ways to connect with you guys more, I may be making a discord server or something similar if that is something you guys would like. I'm just barely getting started with this channel, I have VERY big plans for the rest of this year and next year! In the meantime I hope you guys enjoy the new videos! I'm working hard to improve my commentary so the games are more enjoyable.

Massive update! Due to popular demand, I will now be adding timers to the chess videos.
The timers will be visible near the player information, I may not be able to use them for every game but for all chess.com blitz games and other new tournaments I should be able to include them.
Also, I will be significantly improving my audio quality in the next few days. If you guys have other suggestions just let me know, the timers were included as several people requested them, I am listening to your feedback!
I want to make this the best chess community on YouTube so let's make it happen!

Hey guys just a quick update! I'm not sure if people read these but I'm making this anyway lol
To everyone who watches my videos, thank you! I'm doing my best to stay up to date with the comments and reply to everyone, if you comment on my new videos I will do my best to get back to you quickly! I'm also going back through old videos to get back to comments there as well.
A couple people recently commented that I must be an AI robot (LOL). Well just to clarify, I'm not a robot, my full name is Dr. Mike Jansen. If you want to stalk me or whatever, my IG is @drmikejansen. I also have the IG @drmikechess but I don't really post there much yet, feel free to DM me if you want to verify that I'm not a robot :)
I also have some old fitness channels on YouTube, they are from years ago but if you search my name they will likely show up.
So I hope that clarifies things, in the future I'm going to be live streaming in addition to the YouTube videos but for now growing this channel as fast as I can is my main focus!

What's going on Chess YouTube!
I just wanted to give everyone a HUGE update about some of the changes to the channel. I'm treating Chess YouTube as my new full-time job, and I will be publishing multiple daily videos on this channel in the very near future.
There were recently some technical issues on my end, including a video with errors (it was the "Magnus Carlsen English Attack" video, for anyone who saw that). I apologize for the problems there, my only excuse is I recently moved countries and I'm now fully set up in my new location (I'm now living in the beautiful country of Panama, in case you were curious!).
This channel will focus on single-game videos, and due to popular demand I will be cutting down significantly on the commentary during games. I will focus much more on just explaining the moves played, and NOT showing as many sub-variations.
Please let me know if you like these changes!
I now have a 2nd channel that is now live, in addition to this one - youtube.com/channel/@drmikejansen7. This channel will focus on long-form videos, around 1 hour each or more, with about 5 games per video. If you like long-form videos over short form ones, please check out that channel. I will post a lot of opening repertoire videos and other original long-form videos!
By the way, my "Magnus Carlsen English Attack" video is now live on the 2nd channel as well, in case you wanted to watch it!
Thank you to EVERYONE who has subscribed or watches my videos! This channel blew up extremely fast, much faster than I expected, so I was making a lot of mistakes that you typically would not see from channels with over 1,000 subscribers. I will do my best to improve everything across the board, to give you guys the best possible experience.
If you are getting value out of my channel, please consider subscribing and/or "liking" the videos when you watch them. Just hitting the "like" button each time makes a HUGE difference with how many people see my videos - so I greatly appreciate anyone who does this!
