Ever feel like "30-minute meals" forgot to factor in real-life chaos? 🥴 Like, yeah, 30 minutes plus chopping, marinating, and all the "mom, can I have...?" interruptions! If you know, you know.
Over the years, I've suggested these tips to moms to make meal prepping more realistic:
1️⃣ Chop veggies in bulk over the weekend. It will be so easy to just grab and cook If you already have onions, peppers, garlic, carrots, etc prepped.
2️⃣ When chicken or another protein is on sale, buy then and season them beforehand. You can freeze them seasoned which makes it easy to take out, thaw and cook, when needed.
3️⃣ Cook some of the basics in batches (like rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, or pasta). This will save you time and then you can mix and match all week.
4️⃣ Keep easy snacks on hand to distract the lil "taste testers". By making sure that they have a snack, you can prevent them coming and interrupting you while you're prepping.
5️⃣ If you really don't have time to cut your own veggies, you can find pretty much anything in the frozen aisle now. Frozen onions, spinach, peppers, etc.
