In Fortnite on PS5 or PC, gyro re-calibration will no longer interfere with your aiming during regular gameplay. If you need to re-calibrate, just open the menu and put your controller down for a few seconds. Or change this setting to let re-calibration happen at any time or lock it in!

I'm sure many of you know @RocketJumpNinja! Ever since I first came across his Quake content 6 years ago I hoped he'd one day see the potential for gyro aiming. Well, here it finally is (featuring me 👀) watch video on watch page

A lot of you will have seen that Valorant is hitting console with no gyro controls. IDK and friends already play a lot of Valorant with gyro on PC using reWASD, so definitely check this video out and share it with others to show how any shooter *should* play with a controller watch video on watch page

The Finals has added Flick Stick and improved their gyro controls! Here are the patch notes.
The lack of a "gyro off" button was a big issue for me, but now they have it, with options to toggle gyro or reset the camera, too.
And previously, sensitivity didn't scale down as sniper scopes zoomed in, making them hard to use. That's an option now as well.
This is great timing, because their limited time attack/defend mode looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to see what you all do with the new settings!

THE FINALS HAS GYRO on PS5 and PC. The settings look like a far better-than-average start. So please do check the game out, give the controls a go, and kindly help other players learn about what's possible with gyro aiming <3

Great beginner guide to gyro controls. Starts with compelling examples of what makes gyro special. If you follow me, you already know most of this. But this is a great video to share with other people! watch video on watch page

My 2022 talk "Mouse-like Precision Without Aim Assist: Making Good Gyro Controls" is now available on the @GCAPConf channel!
Check out the description for the updated slides, which include links to additional resources. My goal was for this talk (and those slides) to be a good starting point for any dev.
If you like it, please share it with folks who could benefit from this info :)

COD has flick stick now!
Be warned: There's still no "gyro off" or "reset camera" button, so in my opinion it's quite limited for now. Hopefully that improves in future. But it's still a big deal!
Apologies for no videos for a long time. I'm much busier now than I was when I used to make videos regularly. But I do want to find the time to make a video reflecting on Deathloop, God of War Ragnarok, Neon White, COD, and other significant gyro games in the last year.

Call of Duty's gyro controls have had a really important update:
- Zoom scaling should help you aim just as easily with a zoomed in sniper as with a hip-fire pistol
- Sensitivity sliders are now "natural", go all the way up to 20, and are no longer affected by the framerate
- Gyro aiming now works in the firing range, so you no longer need to drop into a game to fiddle with your settings
Sure, most of these are issues that you expect to be solved before launch. But now they're fixed, and Call of Duty, one of the biggest games in the world, has solid gyro controls built-in. That's a big deal!

It's been a good month for gyro! In case you missed it, God of War Ragnarök launched with unusually good gyro settings, and Call of Duty now has native gyro to coincide with the launch of Warzone 2.0. Personally, I hope Call of Duty's settings improve a fair bit, but at least it's pretty tight and responsive if you can find settings and performance that suit you.

This channel is all about getting really good controls into games.
I'm Jibb Smart, professional Input Specialist, the creator of flick stick and GyroWiki.
Using JoyShockMapper, players can get industry-leading gyro controls working in just about any game on Windows, while GyroWiki is loaded with information for game developers to implement flick stick and/or gyro controls in their own games. If you need help with any of this at all, reach out!
On this channel I also explore other ways to improve controls in games. Since showing new controls in games on this channel, Steam has adopted flick stick, Boomerang X launched with it as a native feature, Spin Rhythm XD added the option for controls demonstrated here, and Crysis Remastered included chorded nanosuit mode selection first shown here.
