Adama's standoff with Ensign Ro, sorry I mean, Admiral Cain cools down as the fleet preps for a battle with the Cylons... and Vera also almost starts to have break down of her own as we continue with Ressurrection Ship Part 1 of Battlestar Galactica.

UPDATE: I’m back on Bluesky a few hours earlier than expected! I saw your messages on here & elsewhere—thank you all <3. I’m deeply disappointed in Bluesky's new moderation policies - equating pushback against people like JKR with the harm they cause to trans ppl only enables more violence. Nor do I believe, especially at this stage, that it is on trans people (or any marginalized group) to remain civil as fascism continues to target us all directly -- fueled in large part by JK Rowling and figures like her. I’ll talk more soon, but even a day away from social media has been healthy. And to be clear -- I wish upon JK Rowling everything she wishes upon trans people.

ORIGINAL POST: Gotta laugh to keep from being pissed - my Bluesky account got suspended - presumably because I did a post saying ā€œI also wish ill to JK Rowlingā€ in response to and solidarity with another trans person getting her account suspended for saying the same. So that’s the state of things on Bluesky nowadays. It’s ok though, JK Rowling can still actively use her money to harm trans people and also get a multibillion dollar tv series, don’t worry!

Good ole Ensign Ro, I mean... Michelle Forbes brings with her a new Battlestar and stirs things up for the Galactica crew in this week's Frak podcast! Content warning on this one for sensitive discussions around SA.Ā

My biggest Star Trek video EVER is up now on Patreon - bigger then V'Ger, so that's big! It's on a topic you'll never guess, and yet it's probably my most pertinent Trek video to date. It's not going to come out publicly until next month for mysterious Section 31 reasons, so if you're considering supporting, now's the time! www.patreon.com/jessiegender

In the latest episode of the Frak This podcast - we watch the Battlestar Galactica episode FLIGHT OF THE PHENOIX where everyone on the Galactica is angry and pissed off due to the stressful conditions they're under and reacting angrily... which is such a wild scifi concept. Anyways, they build a spaceship and it turns out to be a really great episode!

Hey all. Just being real for a moment—this video is currently getting buried by the algorithm, which has been a bit tough because it’s a really personal one for me for a lot of reasons. I’ve also been feeling pessimistic about YouTube and making art in general lately.

To be fair, I get why—it’s probably being flagged or suppressed because I use words like ā€œf*scism,ā€ and I know overtly political videos are always a tougher sell these days. And this one is a heavier topic. But as always, I try to arc it toward some kind of hope, even in dark moments. There’s still a bright spot in there.

Anyway, it’s just been kind of a hard day watching this one die in the algorithm. I didn't expect it to do gangbusters, but I didn't expect it to crash this badly. I’ve not been doing great lately, and it would’ve been nice to have a small win. If you're in a place where you can handle it, it would genuinely mean a lot if you gave it a watch or a share. No pressure if not—I know things are hard for everyone right now. Sending love to everyone trying to make it through right now. watch video on watch page

An acquaintance of mine, Sara Caplan, who creates amazing short-form videos on political and trans-related topics, recently launched a fantastic political podcast called (tongue in cheek) THE KASS REVIEW, where she and her co-host, Katalina Hadfield, both provide, in my opinion, some excellent analysis every week. I'd highly recommend it if you're interested. watch video on watch page

Hey all! There's a new video essay up on my Patreon page titled HOW FASCISM ERASES OUR HISTORY. Its... honestly a rough one—for all the obvious reasons, and some that crept up on me while I was making it. I tried to hold onto hope, I really did. But there’s grief in here. Grief for the stories stolen and the futures deliberately broken. And also personal grief. So fair warning before jumping into this one. That said it does have kitties in it so that helps.

That said - I’ve shown it to some friends—Aranock and a few others—who say it’s a good video. Maybe they’re right. But I have such mixed feelings about it. Not just emotionally, but even just structurally. It feels fractured to me. Uneven. But maybe that’s the point. Maybe that’s the shape fascism leaves us in.

Because fascism doesn’t just kill. It rewrites. It buries. It silences. This essay looks at how fascist and colonial systems erase history, not only through violence, but through the archive itself: who gets remembered, how, and why. From the boarding schools that tore Indigenous children from their families, to the erasure of trans lives from national memory, to the targeted destruction of Palestinian cultural sites, fascism and colonialism thrive on forgetting.

And it leaves behind broken timelines. Gaps where people should be. A story full of missing names and haunted places. I hope, in some way, this video helps make sense of that mess. Or at least reminds you that you’re not alone inside it.

It'll be up on Nebula and YouTube later next week.

It's time to go back to Kobol as President Rouslin is one bad mood away from chucking Sharon out an airlock while Zarak does his scheming as he likes to do all. All this and more as Vera and I watch Home Part 1 on the Frak This Podcast rewatch of Battlestar Galactica.
