Many times, visionaries [understandably] develop identities from a number of things. Although this is normal, it can set them back or cause an identity distortion or a false sense of identity that does not belong to them.
In one of the subtracks of the Visionary Compass Accelerator Program, our Lead Coach breaks down five things you are not as a visionary.
1. You are not your past. Your past is past for a reason. The mistakes you've made or opportunities you lost out of ignorance in your past do not define you.
2. You are not your vision. No matter how great your vision is, it is not your identity. You are bigger than the vision that you have been given. Even if the vision did not exist, your identity would.
3. You are not your work. This is not to say your work does not matter; it does. But your work is only an extension of you.
4. You are not your wealth. You are much more than the money you have in your bank account or the properties you have in your name.
5. You are not your impact. Creating impact is a noble cause and you should be given your flowers. However, like everything else that has been mentioned, it is an extension of who you are as a person.
Which of these has grown to become an identity definer for you? You can begin to recalibrate your mindset and see yourself as who God wants you to be.

There are four major stages of the visionary process that you must understand and properly develop mastery in. These stages are important if you must get results, reach people and scale your vision and the people you want to work with. These stages are:

Build: After launching, you want to build the vision so that you can create systems that allow you to keep delivering value to your people and to the people you are sent to.
Scale: There comes a time when you're tired of playing small and sense so deeply that you should escalate your work; your operations, systems, and people you work with.
Moving from one level to another of this mastery process takes coaching, grit, skill, and determination. Little wonder many visionaries do not go far with their vision.
