So as AI art is a controversial topic, and I tiptoes around it too much in this video I wanted to clarify and discuss things.
1. These generative models were trained on unlicenced art in many cases, which is wrong, even if as my limited understanding goes it isn't quite the same as stealing.
2. The main issue I see with AI is shortcutting and circumventing artists to pay less for a final product, which undercuts the artists the AI took images from to work in the first place.
-thus I have removed monetization from this video, all I had was an idea on how I would use AI in an artistic way.
3. This was a project where I was seeing if AI could be incorporated in an art project, AI has potential in many fields and so art as a way of understanding the world should explore this interaction, though admittedly this video does not explore that, but that was my realization during the process of using AI to make draw endangered species weird. It could have potential as a drafting process for artists weaker at creature design and learning what makes these pizelized abominations catch the artists eye or not. I initially thought about doing my own interpretations of the AI slop, but this is a dumb video, so I just used AI art.
4. Ultimately the problem with AI and art is the tool could be super powerful and help artists that use it as a learning tool or to discuss the role of the humanities when computers can now kind of make superficial art. However, it is easy to end up relyant on the tech in unhelpful ways.

Well, I visited the Grand Canyon today and found that not everyone is savvy to wildlife encounters, for example how far should one stand away from wild elk (Cervus elephus)?

Well, finally the Amazon Rainforest Deforestation and Climate Change video is done! Ft. the climate youtuber ‪@AllAboutClimate‬ I am very happy to finally share it with you all. Look out for it Saturday
This picture is of a gold mine in the Amazon Basin, one of many human pressure points that have the potential to break the Amazon

3,000 Subscribers! Thank you all so much for this milestone. I wanted to let everyone know the Amazon Deforestation video is taking longer than planned, however hopefully it will come out some time in Febuary. In the mean time I will be doing some weekly shorts for a while to try and make up for the lack of content, hope you enjoy.

Hello all, I am just finishing up my first graduate semester, hoping to have the first video in the Hawaiian series out on all the climate zones of the big island by the end of the year, and probably get the last Amazon video out early next year. Anyway, I thought to get you in the mood for Hawaiian content I should reshare my video on the manta rays of Kona. Enjoy or Reenjoy if you have seen it before.

What Odd looking birds. Tomorrow we will go on a quest through the Jungles of South America to find the Hoatzin and with the help from a friend ‪@BioBush‬ we will talk about why this bird is a LIVING DINOSAUR!
Yes, I realize all birds are living dinosaurs, but the Hoatzin has a special place in that discussion, because the babies have claws on their wings they use to climb! Neat stuff, hope you enjoy

Get READY! Tomorrow I will be taking on the bullet ant. We will be talking about their biology and of course that sting. As part of the video I will be picking one up. Will I get Stung? (spoiler alert: Nope, they are not that aggressive and can be quite safely handled)

Well I have been working really hard to get this episode out before the end of June, and I did not make it... Anyway, keep a lookout for a new video from me maybe tomorrow or the next few days all about how dangerous Army ants are, and if they could eat a person. You will not want to miss it...

See You Tomorow... to talk about Vampire Bats
These are not vampire bats, but the Proboscis Bat, a well camouflaged small bat species from Central and South America. Found primarily near rivers, they live in little groups that one can often flush when exploring oxbow lakes. Bats in general have many myths surrounding them, which makes them ideal for the first episode for my new misconception series.

Hello All! Some updates to the channel, no new video tomorrow and I am switching to a once a month schedule. I am busy working as a biologist, so while I film a lot of animal footage for future content, I really don't have the set up to record voiceovers. Anyway I am currently working on a new series I am super excited about exploring wildlife misconceptions in the Amazon Basin, though we will be starting with a little flashback to Costa Rica and a colony of Vampire Bats. Stay Tuned!
