Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki, Finland is home to 150 animal species and almost 1000 plant species that are testament to the diversity of nature. We are accredited by the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) and also a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).
The zoo was established in 1889, which makes it one of the oldest zoos in the world. Korkeasaari Zooâs mission is to conserve biodiversity, and we participate in in-situ conservation work to protect the original habitats of various species.
