Hereâs what I donât get, theyâve repeatedly said that Star Wars is âdead.âThat theyâre âdoneâ with it and will refuse to watch and âboycottâ any future content. Yet here they are, watching Acolyte. The very show they were crapping on for MONTHS. All because of the diversity of the cast and Leslye Headland being Harvey Weinsteinâs ex-assistant. Do they not see how hypocritical and inconsistent they are? Theyâre NOT done with Star Wars. They never will be. Either because 1.) They secretly enjoy the new stuff deep down, but canât admit it, OR 2.) They keep watching so theyâll have something to whine about for money and clicks. Theyâre a cult and their grift is dying. So this last week, after 10 years of studying, I finally got to visit Dealey Plaza; the site of JFKâs assassination. For the 60th anniversary. As well as other locations where related events happened. Such as the old Police Station, the street where Police Officer JD Tippit was killed, and the theatre where Oswald was arrested. Words canât describe how emotional and eerie it felt to stand in these places. To feel the ghosts of history around me. It was both haunting and educational. Looking at photographs doesnât do these places justice. This subject has interested me because not only was it an awful and fascinating crime, but moreso the fact that Kennedy has always been a hero to me. His wisdom, courage, and outlook have inspired me and countless others. Inspired us to strive for unity and truth. We critics arenât insane or morbid (some yes, not all), we talk about it because we care. While yes, some on BOTH sides are in it for the money and fame, the good ones arenât. Weâre in it for the truth. Our goal is to educate and inform. So that everyone can learn from it. The question Iâm usually asked besides âwhoâ was responsible, is âWill we ever know the truth?â Well, the fact is, we do know. We all have from day 1. That being that a good man was taken from us, by those who opposed him. Those who saw his dream of âpeace in all timeâ as a threat. And this nation has never fully recovered from it. But, that doesnât mean we canât do anything about it. We can, together. The louder we are, the harder weâll be to ignore. Us scholars wonât and will never stop. Until the day the history books are re-written, and everyone accepts the truth. Because, as author Harry Livingstone perfectly put it, âA lot of us loved John Kennedy. Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly would be covering it. But its not happening because thereâs no proof sheâs gone.
