Question: John, are there REALLY more than 1,000 phrasal verbs in this video???
Answer: π¨π»βπ« Yes... but! π
It's really important to remember that the AMOUNT of phrasal verbs you know is NOT important. That's why this video is broken up (divided) into different parts so you can learn them IN CONTEXT and for DIFFERENT SITUATIONS. Your brain will remember them easier that way, that's why I present almost all of my video lessons with some sort of context.
People whose first language is English don't think "wow, you just used a phrasal verb!" - the majority of us don't even know what a phrasal verb is! Only English (ESL) teachers and English learners know this!
Instead, we understand that phrasal verbs are just a completely natural part of our language. They flow with the language, just like other words or word combinations! EVERYTHING is connected! When I write these lessons, I try to make them as natural as possible, just how I would use them or hear them being used by another.
βοΈ My recommendation for YOU βοΈ
1. Study one section of this video every week! For example: phrasal verbs for eating and drinking πβοΈ
2. Memorize all of the phrasal verbs in that section and ONLY that section. π Make your own examples, EXACTLY as they appear in the video but with different vocabulary words. π
3. Think about them all week and try to use them in your daily lives, or while you're thinking about English.
- Example: This hamburger looks delicious, I'm going to eat it all up! π
4. Return to the video the next week and start a NEW section. Before you know it, you'll be able to use more than 1,000 phrasal verbs! π
This is your friendly reminder that I wrote this whole video, recorded it with my own voice, and put it all together (combined it)! DON'T fall for (fall for = be fooled by) other channels who use artificial intelligence to make these types of videos, I would hate it if you developed bad language habits! That's a SERIOUS problem these days!
I've seen some of those channels and they make a LOT of mistakes! Be very careful!
Good luck learning! Remember, these are American phrasal verbs. πΊπΈ Phrasal verbs from other countries could be different.
There's a lot to learn here! It's my favorite video on my channel because I know it's so beneficial to you and your studies. Thanks for being part of our community here!
