Mt.8848 was formed by founder members Pharendra Limbu, Nirmal Gartaula and Darshan Rai and went on to become one of the most successful groups in Nepali music. Each of them wanted to contribute to the nepali music industry hence formed a band and started writing songs.They invited fellow guitar player Amar Limbu and Shiba Limbu to play in the band. Within a year they released their FIRST ALBUM (YO SANSAAR) containing hits like RAAT GUJAARNA, 60(SAATTHI) and MASKI MASKI. Their SECOND ALBUM (JUE KO MAASU) released on 2012 contained hits like JEU KO MAASU and CHIURI PHOOL. Later the band added guitar players Rikesh Puri and Aashish Gorkhali. In 2017 & 2018, Sanjaya Shrestha and Jigmee Wangchuk Lepcha joined the band respectively. Then the band invited Shyam Maharjan to play the Bass and prajwol Waiju as the official sound engineer in 2022.
