Hello, all! With the dreaded anime club about Eromanga Sensei behind us, it is time for us to choose the topic of next month's discussion! We decided we were going to have a loose theme of "shows about artists" this time, so hopefully you all find a bit of inspiration in one of these!

Barakamon: When a young professional calligrapher punches an old man for calling his calligraphy "unoriginal," he is sent to an island to learn about life from its eccentric inhabitants.

Blue Period: Yatora Yaguchi is a high school student secretly struggling with feelings of emptiness and frustration. Despite previously feeling like art was a pointless subject, he finds himself touched by the beautiful vista of Shibuya in the morning and decides to pursue visual arts as a career, finally passionate about something for the first time in his life.

Comic Girls: Four high school manga artists living in the same boarding house all try to work together to improve their art and their lives while growing as people and getting closer as friends! (I promise this one is good.)

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun: When Chiyo Sakura finally works up the courage to confess her love to her classmate, he mistakes her for a fan of his popular shoujo manga and conscripts her into helping him on some drawings. In an effort to get closer to him, she agrees to be his assistant.

Ya Boy Kongming!: Third-century Chinese warlord Zhuge Kongming is finally bested at the Battle of Wuzhang Plains. While dying, he hopes that his next life could be lived in peaceful times, and he is reincarnated into modern-day Japan, where he is roped into going to a nightclub. There, he meets aspiring pop star Eiko Tsukimi and promises to use his strategic brilliance to help her achieve fame.

Anime club is dead! Long live anime club! It's time once again to vote for the show that you want us to discuss at next month's anime club, which will take place on August 25th at 11:00 Central US time. Here are your options!

Children of the Whales: The world is covered in sand and humanity sails around on giant sand-faring ships. Watched two or three episodes of this back when it aired and I remember it got weird and disappointing. Would love to go back and check it out!

Eromanga Sensei: The legendarily. . . we'll say "uncouth" anime wherein a failing writer discovers that his shut-in little sister is actually the famous erotic illustrator known as Eromanga Sensei. You know this show already. You know what it means to vote for it. Don't make me watch this again.

Kageki Shoujo Revue Starlight: A talking giraffe makes theater kids musically stage fight in exchange for a nebulous boon.

Romantic Killer: From his point of view, this is a story of endless love pursued with passion. From hers, it is a survival horror game.

With a whopping 66% of the vote, the classic psychological think-piece SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN will be the topic of the next ExPoint anime club! This is exactly the kind of show that I absolutely despise, so this is going to be a fun discussion! Be sure to turn in on July 28th at 11:00 AM Central!

We had a great time talking about Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song at anime club! Now, it's time to vote for the next one, which will take place on July 28th at 11:00 Central US time. Here are your options!

Appare-Ranman!: Appare Sorrono is a small-town inventor from the late 1800's who has developed a fascination with steam ships of all kinds. That fascination leads him to travel across the sea in a homemade steam boat with his samurai companion. They get stranded in the middle of the ocean until they are eventually rescued by a huge ocean liner bound for Los Angeles. Now, Appare has been given the opportunity to participate in a Wacky Races-style cross-country motorcade across America in a hand-made, steam-powered motor vehicle!

Orange: After receiving a letter from herself ten years in the future, Naho Takamiya is on a quest to erase all the regrets that her future self is going to have, particularly surrounding the death of the new transfer student who just moved to her school. It's Anohana with time travel.

Serial Experiments Lain: One of the classic avant-garde anime of the late '90s, Serial Experiments Lain features the technophobic Lain Iwakura getting wrapped up in a series of mysteries, beginning when she receives a strange email from a classmate who recently committed suicide, eventually blurring the lines between the physical and digital worlds.

Anime club is moved to next week on account of how I'm feverish as all hell and you don't want to hear me try to talk about anime at the moment. Sorry for the late notice <3
