The 2007 Indian Institute of Technology's (IIT) Global Alumni Conference was held July 6-9, 2007 in Santa Clara, CA. The event designed to showcase technological advances and business accomplishments was a huge success with over 3,500 attendees from world over. The event featured keynote speakers including US Senator Hillary Clinton, GE CEO Jeff Immelt and Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin. The IITs are a group of seven engineering and technology-focused institutes of higher education, declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Indian Government.
