first of all a Happy New Year to you all, I hope you are all well and healthy. We're kicking off 2024 with a title that I'm almost certain almost nobody knows about. It's a demo version of the game "City of the Evil Dead" that was made with the "Pie in the Sky Engine". I'm sure some of you here know games that were developed with this engine. Unfortunately, I found almost no information about the game. Just the name of the developer and an old website. I think it was never released. Anyone who has more information is welcome to share it here.

euch allen erst einmal ein Frohes neues Jahr ich hoffe, es geht euch allen gut und ihr seid alle gesund. Wir starten 2024 direkt mit einem Titel, bei dem ich mir fast sicher bin, das ihn so gut wie niemand kennt. Es ist eine Demo Version von dem Spiel "City of the Evil Dead" das mit der "Pie in the Sky Engine" gemacht wurde. Der eine oder andere hier kennt sicher Spiele die mit dieser Engine entwickelt wurden. Leider habe ich so gut wie keine Informationen zu dem Spiel gefunden. Lediglich den Namen des Entwicklers und eine alte Website. Ich denke, das es nie veröffentlicht wurde. Wer da mehr Informationen hat, darf die gerne hier teilen.

Hallo Freunde des First Person Genres,
heute vor 6 Jahren, am 14.10.2016 habe ich mich entschieden diesen Kanal zu gründen. Seit 6 Jahren versuche ich hier auf YouTube ein Videoarchiv für alle je erschienen First Person Games zu erstellen. Am Anfang hab ich ehrlich gesagt selber kaum geglaubt mehr als 500 Abonnenten zu bekommen. Jetzt fehlen noch 50 und wir sind bei 4000!!!! Natürlich gibt es Leute, die scherzen und der Meinung sind, 4000 Abonnenten in 6 Jahren wäre nicht viel. Für mich ist es viel… viel mehr als ich je erwartet hätte.

Zudem habe ich mein Logo etwas upgegradet. Der liebe YouTuber @MinBekker (der übrigens der Programmierer von dem First Person Game „Black Bekker“ ist) hat mir ein neues HoFPG Logo im DOOM Style designet, dieses sitzt nun wie eine neue Krone auf der Spitze der Pyramide. Das Auge und den Schriftzug „Hall of First Person Games“ habe ich ebenfalls etwas geändert.
Der eine oder andere erinnert sich vielleicht noch, dass Anfangs fast täglich Videos kamen und mittlerweile schaffe ich 1 Video alle 2 Wochen. Das liegt daran, dass sich bei mir Privat einiges geändert hat und mir Zeit und Kraft fehlt. Dieses ganze Projekt betreibe ich ja als privates Hobby. Dennoch habe ich einen festen Willen, dieses Projekt zu beenden. Im Moment etwas langsamer, aber auch dies wird sich sicherlich wieder ändern.
Bei den Walkthroughs ist es im Moment so, dass ich immer ein größeres Projekt am Laufen habe und kleinere neben her. Ein großes habe ich jetzt erst abgeschlossen und muss es noch bearbeiten. Dies dauert einfach wie bereits erwähnt zurzeit etwas länger. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Game aus der Mitte 90er, von dem es noch kein Walkthrough dazu gibt und es war wirklich Bock schwer!!! Das nächste größere Projekt wird ein Stealth Shooter aus dem Anfang der 2000er.
Ich habe diesmal ein kleines persönliches Fazit dazu geschrieben und überlege, ob ich mich eventuell selber mal vor die Kamera setzte und meine Erfahrung als Gamer für Gamer zu erzählen. Allerdings ist das nur eine Idee und ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich es so umsetzten werde. Gut möglich ist auch einfach eine weitere Textvariante wie ich es bisher immer veröffentlicht hatte. Solche Videos werden dann allerdings nur als End Fazit zu Walkthroughs kommen. Die Gameplay Videos selber bleiben ohne Kommentar. Eure Meinung dazu würde mich sehr interessieren.
Generell wenn ihr Fragen habt, fragt mich was euch interessiert.

Hello friends of the first person genre,
6 years ago today, on 10/14/2016 I decided to create this channel. For 6 years I've been trying to create a video archive for all First Person Games ever released here on YouTube. In the beginning I honestly didn't believe to get more than 500 subscribers. Now we are missing 50 and we are at 4000!!!! Of course there are people who joke and think that 4000 subscribers in 6 years is not much. For me it is a lot...much more than I ever expected.

Also, I upgraded my logo a bit. The dear YouTuber @MinBekker (who by the way is the programmer of the First Person Game "Black Bekker") designed me a new HoFPG logo in DOOM style, this now sits like a new crown on top of the pyramid. I also changed the eye and the lettering "Hall of First Person Games" a bit.
One or the other may remember that in the beginning I had videos almost every day and now I manage 1 video every 2 weeks. This is due to the fact that my private life has changed a lot and I lack time and energy. This whole project I run as a private hobby. Nevertheless, I have a firm will to finish this project. At the moment a bit slower, but this will surely change again.
With the walkthroughs it is at the moment in such a way that I always have a larger project at the running and smaller beside it. One big one I just finished and still have to work on it. As already mentioned, this takes a little longer at the moment. It is a game from the mid 90s, of which there is no walkthrough yet and it was really hard!!! The next bigger project will be a stealth shooter from the early 2000s.
This time I wrote a little personal summary about it and I'm thinking about maybe sitting in front of the camera myself and telling my experience as a gamer for gamers. However, this is just an idea and I'm not sure if I will implement it that way. It's also possible that I'll just publish another text version like I did before. Such videos will then only come as an end conclusion to walkthroughs. The gameplay videos themselves will remain without comment. I would be very interested in your opinion.

Hallo Freunde des First Person Genres,
ist schon eine Weile her als ich hier das letzte mal etwas geschrieben hatte. Eigentlich hatte ich mir vorgenommen etwas mehr zu schreiben, aber oftmals wusste ich nicht genau was ich den schreiben könnte. Nun gibt es eine Frage die mir immer wieder gestellt wurde und wird und diese will ich schon lange beantworten. Genau das werde ich nun tun!
Immer wieder werde ich gefragt woher ich die ganzen Spiele kenne und woher ich diese habe. Nun ich habe mich schon seit Kindheit für Videospiele interessiert und etwa mit 12 Jahren meinen ersten Kontakt zu „Doom 2“. Von da an war meine Begeisterung für First Person Spiele geboren. Wer sich übrigens mehr über mich und die „Hall“ erfahren möchte, kann gerne bei der Seite „Videospielgeschichten“ vorbeischauen und mehr lesen (www.videospielgeschichten.de/die-hall-of-first-per…). Übrigens eine Super Seite auf der jedermann seine persönlichen Viedeospielegschichten erzählen kann. Es handelt sich um eine deutsche Seite, aber durch den Übersetzter ist es auch in English gut zu lesen.
Doch zurück zu der Frage „Woher ich all diese Spiele kenn und woher ich sie habe“. Wie bereits erwähnt hatte meine Leidenschaft für First Person Spiele mit ca. 12 begonnen und ich sammelte ab diesem Zeitpunkt alles was ich bekommen konnte. Damals noch oftmals irgendwelche Kopien von Shareware CDs auf denen viele verschiedene Spiele waren. Hin und wieder konnte ich Spiele auf Flohmärkten ergattern. Ich erinnere mich noch an “Nitemare 3D“, dass ich auf einem Flohmarkt von einem Typen gekauft hatte, der Unmengen an Disketten hatte. Ich habe mehrere Spiele gekauft, konnte allerdings nur „Nitemare 3D“ zum laufen bringen. Oftmals brachten auf Freunde Spiele mit wie „Blood“, „Lands of Lore“, „Duke Nukem 3D“ etc. So begann meine kleine Sammlung, aber eher unbewusst. Mein Bruder spielte ebenfalls gerne den einen oder anderen Shooter und brachte so zB. „Quake“ ins Haus und auch einige weitere Titel.
Irgendwann Anfang der 2000 entdeckte ich eBay!!! Anfangs noch sehr misstrauisch, ob das ganze auch mit rechten Dingen zuging. Schnell bemerkte ich das ich an viele Titel kam, die vorher nirgends zu finden waren. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt zwar alles noch in Deutschland, aber oftmals hatten Leute Spiele, die es hier nicht gab und verkauften diese über eBay. Durch das Internet fand ich sehr oft immer neue Titel. Titel von denen in keiner PC-Zeitschrift die Rede war. Ich fand Seiten wo Leute sich die Mühe machten Spiele zu listen, leider erinnere ich mich nicht mehr an die Namen der Seiten. Ich stellte fest, dass ich mir all diese Title nicht merken konnte und begann Excel Listen anzufertigen. Anfangs trug ich einfach nur die Namen ein und markierte farblich, ob ich diese schon hatte oder noch suchte. Die Liste wuchs und wuchs und mein Sammlertrieb ebenfalls und hält bis heute an.
Nun sammle ich seit über 20 Jahren First Person Titel und dabei ist einiges zusammen gekommen und auch meine Excel Liste ist ziemlich groß. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass meine Sammlung nicht so gut aussieht, wie die von Leuten die richtig mit Big Boxen etc sammeln. Mir ging es nur um in den Besitz aller Spiele zu kommen und viele davon sind ganz normal in einer CD Hülle im Schrank. Viele Spiele bekomme ich weiterhin über eBay (mittlerweile auch Importe), Amazon und sonstigen Plattformen. In den Jahren bin ich auch auf der einen oder anderen Plattform / Forum gelandet und habe viele Leute mit dem gleichen Interesse kennengelernt. Durch diese kann ich das Projekt „Hall of First Person Games“ besser vervollständigen. Es gibt Spiele, an die ist schwer heranzukommen und wenn, dann oftmals zu Riesen Beträgen. Hier kommen oftmals diese Leute und helfen mir, denn mit etwas Glück ist einer davon im Besitz dieses Spiels und stellt es mir zur Verfügung.

It's been a while since I last wrote something here. Actually, I had decided to write a little more, but often I didn't know exactly what to write that. Now there is a question that I have been asked again and again and I have wanted to answer it for a long time. That's exactly what I'm going to do now!
Again and again I am asked how I know all the games and where I got them from. Well, I've been interested in video games since I was a child and I first came into contact with Doom 2 when I was 12 years old. From then on, my passion for first person games was born. Incidentally, a great site on which everyone can tell their personal video game stories. It is a German site, but the translator makes it easy to read in English too.
But back to the question "How do I know all these games and where do I get them from". As already mentioned, my passion for first person games started when I was around 12 and from then on I collected everything I could get. Back then there were often copies of shareware CDs with many different games on them. Every now and then I could get hold of games at flea markets. I still remember “Nitemare 3D” that I bought at a flea market from a guy who had tons of floppy disks. I bought several games, but could only get "Nitemare 3D" to work. Often friends brought games like "Blood", "Lands of Lore", "Duke Nukem 3D" etc. This is how my small collection began, but rather unconsciously. My brother also liked to play one or the other shooter and brought, for example. "Quake" into the house and also some other titles.
Sometime in the early 2000s I discovered eBay !!! At first very suspicious of whether the whole thing was right. I quickly noticed that I got a lot of titles that were previously nowhere to be found. At that time everything was still in Germany, but people often had games that weren't available here and sold them on eBay. I often found new titles through the Internet. Title that was not mentioned in any PC magazine. I found sites where people bothered to list games, but unfortunately I don't remember the names of the sites. I realized that I couldn't remember all of these titles and started to make Excel lists. At first I just entered the names and marked in color whether I already had them or whether I was still looking for them. The list grew and grew, and so did my drive to collect and continue to this day.
I have been collecting first person titles for over 20 years now and a lot has come together and my Excel list is also quite large. However, I have to say that my collection doesn't look as good as that of people who collect properly with big boxes etc. I just wanted to get hold of all the games and many of them are normal in a CD case in the closet. I still get many games from eBay (now also imports), Amazon and other platforms. Over the years I have also landed on one or the other platform / forum and have met many people with the same interest. This enables me to better complete the “Hall of First Person Games” project. There are games that are difficult to get hold of and when they do, they are often too expensive. This is where these people often come here and help me, because with a little luck one of them will own this game and make it available to me.

Hallo Freunde des First Person Genres, da ich ja dieses Projekt alleine betreibe und nicht im Besitz mancher Spiele, sondern oft nur das Wissen über so manchen Titel habe, besorge ich mir ja oft die Spiele über z.B. eBay. Leider gibt es manche Spiele hier sehr selten und ich muss diese importieren und da gibt es oftmals Versandkosten von 15 bis 20 €/$. Da kommen dann gerne mal 30 €/$ aufwärts für ein altes Game zusammen, dass ich oftmals nur wenige Minuten benötige. Das ist auch alles gar nicht tragisch und ich werde dieses Projekt weiter betreiben und auch die Exoten irgendwann bekommen. Doch wer nun "möchte" und die Betonung liegt auf "MÖCHTE", kann mich gerne mit einer Mitgliedschaft unterstützen. Später werde ich sowieso einen neuen PC sowie Dinge wie VR benötigen, um dieses Projekt zu vervollständigen. Da bin ich natürlich über jeden Support dankbar. Keine Sorge, ich werde keine Unterschiede machen, der einzige Unterschied ist, dass Mitglieder ein kleines Logo neben ihrem Namen haben beim kommentieren... ansonsten ist alles gleich. Ich möchte keine 2 Klassen habe und es soll wirklich nur machen, wer dies auch wirklich möchte. Ich bin ebenso froh über jede andere Art von Support. Ob das nun das schauen meiner Videos, liken, teilen, kommentieren, Hinweise oder weiterempfehlen ist, spielt keine Rolle... ich freue mich über jede Art der Unterstützung. Hello friends of the first person genre, since I run this project on my own and do not own some games, but often only have the knowledge of some titles, I often get the games about e.g. eBay. Unfortunately there are some games very rare here and I have to import them and there are often shipping costs from 15 to 20 €/$.
