Hey Scream Team! 😱
As some of you already know, I’ve been writing a screenplay for a horror movie with my filmmaker friend, Erik Champney. This has been a very exciting adventure, but we realize that in order to make this movie a reality, we need to be taking more action. That’s why we have decided that the first step is to turn our concept into a short film. 🎥
As a lover of the Scream franchise, I knew that our movie had to have an operatic opening scene that would evoke the spirit of directors like Wes Craven and Dario Argento. So when it came time to figuring out what a short version of our film would look like, we naturally decided that our opening scene would act as a grand presentation for what we are capable of as filmmakers. 🙌
Of course, this is not a simple journey to embark on, and we know that the prospect of putting forth the funding will be an obstacle. That’s why we are currently hard at work planning an exciting Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the film. 💰
However, we don’t want to simply just ask for money, as it’s more important for us to create a community of people who want to be immersed in the project. This is going to involve us giving back. So we will be collaborating with artist Matthew Therrien to create the film’s key art (as well as detailed storyboards) that will be available in poster print as part of the reward packages. Other exciting rewards will be announced as we get closer to the campaign launch. 🎁
I think that horror is always at its best when the people involved are passionate about the genre. That’s why it’s so important to get other horror lovers on board to ensure that the creative vision remains intact. In that sense, everyone who contributes is not only part of the team, but also part of the film’s ultimate success story. We already have several creatives working with us, including our producer, Randy Borruso, and cinematographer, Isaiah Providence. But we’ve also been in touch with a Hollywood stunt coordinator to assist us with one of the more intricate kills in the film. 🎬
Right now we are tentatively setting the Kickstarter launch date for Tuesday July 9th, which will run for a month. After that, we’re looking to set filming during the fall. You can expect more details to come out as we move along, as I’ll be updating you all here with livestream events and the eventual campaign video. 📆
This has been a dream of mine for so long, and it’s only become more realized with the inspiration and encouragement I’ve received from all of you. It means the world to me, and I want to thank you all for being on this journey with me so far. It’s only going to get more exciting from here on out. ❤️🔥

Hey everyone! I just found out that I’ll be doing press at the Calgary Expo at the end of the month (April 25-28). For anyone who’s coming down, I would love to meet you. I’ll be around all weekend.
The cast will be doing a panel on Friday the 26th at 6 pm. This panel includes Neve, Matthew, Skeet, Jamie, and Lee Waddell. I’m still waiting to hear back if any of the cast will be doing press on site, so there’s no guarantee I’ll meet with them one-on-one. But if I happen to meet with them, feel free to let me know in the comments what kind of questions you’d like me to ask.
Laurie Metcalf, Rose McGowan, and Dermot Mulroney will also be there.
This is all really exciting, and I hope to meet some cool Scream fans/fans of the channel while I’m there.

Hey Scream team, I realize I've been sort of AWOL lately, so I just wanted to make sure I was checking in.
Firstly, thank you to everyone for being so patient with me. I know I'm not always the most consistent with the upload thing, but it's only because I strive to bring you content that meets my own ridiculously high standards.
I took some time off recently because I had been dealing with an exhausting 3 year long legal battle that finally came to an end last month. It's something that I hope none of you will ever have to deal with in your lifetime, because honestly, I can't say I would ever want to go through it again myself. However, it all worked out in my favour, and it was a very surreal feeling to finally let go of all of that baggage and relax for once.
Secondly, I want to announce that I have been working on writing a horror screenplay with a friend of mine. This is based on an idea that he and I had been talking about for a while, and we finally decided to get all pen-to-paper-y about it. Writing is something that I love doing, and it's a huge part of my process here on YouTube. I've seen a lot of unprompted comments from some of you telling me that I would be great at writing horror movies, and believe me when I say that I am very grateful for your confidence in me. I don't know that I would have ever found the encouragement or inspiration to explore this avenue if it wasn't for the seeds you've sown.
I wish I could reveal more about it at this time, but I will say that this is the beginning of a journey that I hope you will all take with me.
I am currently editing a new video, so the well won't be dry for too much longer. But just a reminder that my podcast @thecherrypicker runs weekly, so if you're ever missing this lovable curmudgeon, you can always find plenty more of me on the podcast channel... or just stream it in audio if that's more your thing.
