About every 2nd month a NewJazz lesson is published here on the NewJazz channel. I know that itās not very often. But āNewJazzā embodies only ālittle meā ā and I really try to make high quality videos and to push Music over the edge (not that I always succeed). So each video takes some time to produceā¦ I surely hope that you have patience with me. The next lesson should be all done and uploaded by the end of March...
Thank you so much everybody for all your support, likes and really nice comments on my videos :) :) :) Many warm regards my Dear Musical Friends from Oliver Prehn
Happy NewJazz dear fellow Musicians. And thank you so much for all your support; voluntary donations, likes and very lovely and encouraging comments on my videos. I'll keep on doing a NewJazz video every second month for sure. I surely hope that you have patience with meā¦ Next year we'll dig even deeper into the tasty soup of Jazz Music and extract new thrilling and trembling sounds and progressions. I'm really looking forward to doing more Music with you!!! Many warm regards from Oliver Prehn
Hello dear fellow Musicians. Usually I upload a NewJazz video by the end of every month. But this month I have to skip the usual upload - I need some vacation to celebrate Christmas with my nearest family. I really hope itās ok with you. See you by the end of January. Stay safe and enjoy Music :)
Many warm regards, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Oliver Prehn
Today I reached 100.000 subscribers at the āNewJazzā YT channel - I just canāt believe itā¦ Iām just so grateful for every single one of you, who have subscribed. I had NEVER thought that so many people would listen to my crazy talk and Music ā THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
By the way, a āNewJazzā lesson is coming very soon; Iāll give you a complete guide to understand everything about Musical Scales ā I surely hope youāll enjoy. I hope the lesson will be done by Thursday this week. āCHEERSā MY FRIENDS :)
Dear fellow Musicians. Working on the next lesson... First we'll have a basic introduction to the Modes - learning them by their sound. Then we just go crazy and we learn to play a "Multi Mode" solo - that will for sure be fun :) :) :)
I hope the lesson will be done and uploaded mid next week... Warm regards from Oliver Prehn
Coming up very soon: A new lesson with rhythmic exercises combining the left and the right hand. I hope to be done Wednesday - but a more realistic estimate would be Thursday - we'll see how it goes, working on it :) Warm regards from Oliver
One of my old videos (summer 2017) just hit 1 million views!!! I'm just so happy, pleased and thankful :) :) :) Thanks to everybody for supporting my work with all your nice comments and likes!!!
Dear Subscribers, Supporters and Music Friends. Together with my drummer Erik Frandsen I have composed and recorded a modern and quite crazy and āwildā jazz tune. I think that the song will be ready and uploaded on Wednesday. I really hope that youāll like the Music š I need to create some new Music once in a while to stay sharp on performing. Teaching and performing goes hand in hand, I think. So I surely hope you have patience with me. After the music video we will of course return to the ālessonsā and explore many new interesting aspects of improvised Music - and I really look forward to that!!! Warm regards from Oliver
Hi dear Music Friends :) I hope the next lesson will be done and uploaded by Thursday next week (maybe Wednesday if I'm really lucky). Working on it... I surely hope that you have patience with me. I will show you how to 'unfold' the Music by using a simple phrase - and we'll do a lot of exercises - so that'll be fun!!! Warm regards from Oliver
Working on the next lesson presenting 4 circular tools to look up 28 thrilling scales. A subscriber named "nupfe" from Germany has redesigned the circles, so now they look really fancy. A great thanks to "nupfe"!!! With a little luck I think the lesson will be done and uploaded on Thursday...
Lessons in Modern Jazz Improvisation.
We'll try to free ourselves from conform institutional thinking and approach Music in new ways. This is about NewJazz and not OldJazz. So we live on the edge; sometimes we'll fall into the deep and sometimes we'll go right to the top.
I like to keep on being "small". I run the NewJazz project by myself and I do not make a business concept out of it (no sponsors or merchandise either). I read all of your comments and I try hard to answer all of your questions. I love to be in touch.
Approximately every second month a NewJazz lesson is uploaded. All my lessons are designed so that you can approach them in NO specific order. I try to make them all start out easy. If a lesson becomes too advanced (or weird), just skip to another one. So just pick out a subject that you love and let Music grow from thereā¦ in that way you keep Motivated - and
Motivation makes Music!
