Happy Preparation Day brethren,

Have you ever tried to put a child to bed? Sometimes it feels like you're asking them to do the worst thing imaginable.
Even when they're clearly exhausted, they'l fight it with everything they've got.

But as a parent, you know better. Kids can't play all day, they need rest to grow.
*That makes sense, right?*

Great. Now let's take our own advice. As adults, we're not much different. Even when we're running on fumes, we convince ourselves to push through.
But without intentional rest, we miss out on the restoration and renewal God designed for us. You can't run on empty forever.

The Sabbath is God's way of telling us to slow down. It's not a restriction or a sign of weakness, it's how we grow, heal, and reset for what's ahead.

The Sabbath is God's loving invitation to slow down and find rest in Him. It's not a limitation but a beautiful opportunity to grow, heal, and prepare for the week ahead.

Don't fight the rest you need.
Embrace the gift of the Sabbath with joy!

*Spiritual Junk Food*

Preparing our children for eternity is the most important job on earth! The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6, β€œTrain up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” That’s a beautiful promise for parents as well as a great incentive to raise kids to love Jesus. A lot of prayer is needed to accomplish this task because this sinful world makes it even more challenging to keep kids’ minds on spiritual things. We are warned in 1 Peter 5:8, β€œBe alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” This world we live in gets more dangerous every day, because Satan has mastered the art of disguising sin so that not only children, but parents as well, are fooled by his deceptions. Some of the tools the devil uses are television, video games, books, spiritualism, and music, just to name a few. It’s not always the tools that are wrong – it’s what kids are watching, reading, and doing! That’s why parents need to make sure they are spiritually feeding their kids. Before heading to the checkout counter with the latest book, toy, or video game, ask yourself, β€œWill this draw my children closer to Jesus?” If the answer is β€œno,” put down the spiritual junk food and leave the store! Ask God to give you strength, courage, wisdom, and discernment to know the best spiritual food that will introduce your kids to their Best Friend - Jesus!
