In early 2015, as I began to ramp up production on an album (2016's "Songs From My Youth") of compositions I had written as a VERY young human, I looked at my "work" from the vantage point of a 41 year old. The process of composing is not EVEN a process in the literal sense of the word. You cannot TEACH OR bullet point "How to" and I began to again deeply fall into the beautiful well of creating just as I hit THE MOST DIFFICULT song "from my youth" a piece that as a 14 year old boy who was only full of energy and the gifts given to me at birth, brought me to my knees ("Two Days and a Week"). That songs twists and turns composed me into a corner and as I revisited it 25 years later the "Guitargasm" idea hit me.
What is "Guitargasm"? In a nutshell it IS a PROCESS of composition but in its rawest, most STRIKING sense. Here, it means plug guitar in, hit "Record", PLAY, stop. THAT IS IT. Whatever happened between "Play" and "Stop" is the piece.
