What if I just streamed trying new games, and only made videos on the bangers?
Streams = chilling out and having fun trying new games, no worrying about editing or retention or anything
Videos = since we already found the banger on stream and know it's good, it's chill and fun to make the video since we already know people like it

Variety gaming enjoyers: Would you enjoy watching videos on horde survival games (aka: Vampire Survivors-like games), if a lot of the "run around and avoid mobs and pick up xp" part gets edited out?
I like the genre, but it typically doesn't do well on the channel. I suspect that the reason is, my viewers tend to be more cerebral and get bored by the action sequence where no decisions are being made other than "dodge, pick up xp, dodge, pick up xp." So I'm wondering if I edit out most of the repetitive action sequences, and just show the highlights and the build-making, if that's something you guys would enjoy.

One King Is Enough enjoyers: Do you think you would enjoy watching an asynchronous PvP CARD game autobattler roguelike?
Asynchronous PvP in this case meaning you battle decks from real players' previous performances.
I'm running this poll because I'm curious if you guys are interested enough in async pvp to watch other async pvp games, or if you mostly just like One King Is Enough for the kingdom building aspect.
If you don't watch One King Is Enough please click the "Who are you?/ I don't watch one king" option. Thank you.

Kingdom Builder Enjoyers: When watching a video, how often do you like to see the kingdom get attacked?

One King Is Enough enjoyers: How much does the kingdom building aspect of the game interest you?
I've been assuming it doesn't matter much, and that you guys watch because you like seeing the competition between the different players/you like seeing the crazy synergies that happen in the late game. But viewership on the Super Fantasy Kingdom stream was good, which makes me wonder if maybe I've been underestimating your interest in (competitive) kingdom building games.

Idea for the channel:
One-offs and the first few episodes of a series get editing. But games that get long series, later episodes get no editing.
Why?
When I start a new game, editing out the slow learning parts makes it easier to watch.
Once I’m experienced at the game, the gameplay flows on its own — which makes for a better watch without all the jumpcuts.

Trying to carefully pick variety games for just one niche has helped me understand what I like most. I like goal-oriented, decision-making games (preferably with lots of decisions to make). Territorial (before I burned out on it), OpenFront, Risk, Wall World, Autobattler games like "CROPS!", logic puzzle games like Demon Bluff, etc. Even most of the battlefield/combat-style games I prefer tend to fall under that category. So I guess that'll be the channel niche now. That's a mouthful though, you can just think of it as strategy games or logic games or brain games or whatever makes sense to you.
And for the poll: which is better?

I've known this for a while but recent tests on the channel are bringing it to mind again. Uploading lots of geography game videos both squashes the non-geo variety content (because of how the algorithm tests fresh video uploads on who has been watching the channel recently), but also the geo games just compete with themselves for views (7 geo videos a week does NOT get 7x more views than 1 geo video a week - the more I upload videos on geo the more they cannibalize views from each other).
But interestingly enough, the fan favorite games that DON'T get the algorithmic push that geo games do, those don't really cannibalize views much at all. So as far as I understand, I should pick main games that DON'T cannibalize views, and the games that DO cannibalize views should be uploaded sparingly.
Which for this channel means I need to pick 1-2 main games that are NOT geo games, and just sprinkle in the occasional geo video, while also still doing variety. And the 1-2 main games don't need to be years-long main games like my geo games have been. They can get rotated much more frequently (how frequently probably just depends on how long it takes to find new main games to replace them, I'm hoping to cycle out main games as frequently as I'm able to find new main games to replace them).
I don't really have any new main games in my niche lined up (Demon Bluff is tempting but the playtest will probably close soon). I might have to return to some old games for a bit. "CROPS!" is a fan favorite so I can bring that back for a while as a main game until something new pops up. Oaken Tower did well on its video too, so maybe I can give that a go too. But if one or both of those don't work, I'll pick something else. Maybe One King Is Enough will do well as a main game for a bit when the demo opens back up.
TLDR: Algorithm stinky, geo games getting sprinkled in occasionally for the time being, still doing variety, also picking 2 non-geo main games to focus on, main games will get switched over to new main games when they show up.

How do you feel about the occasional Risk video/match ending in a draw?
What I want to do with Risk and OpenFront is put a time limit on how much time IRL I put into recording footage for a single video (so I can put most of my focus on finding and covering new games for variety on the channel).
So if I'm recording a match of Risk and it starts to stalemate for a long time (this happens more often in capitals mode), I can just say "alright, this one's a draw" and move onto the next match (or end the video if it was the last/only match in a video).
TLDR: Spending 2-3x as long to get the footage for a Risk video than any other game on this channel just isn't feasible anymore. I need to be able to say "this one's a draw" rather then spend 3+ hours in a stalemating match of Risk waiting for other players to get bored and give up and leave.

A gaming let's play channel by some guy named CG who makes fun-loving videos filled with joy and stupidity.
For business inquiries, please use the email address below. This is not CG's personal email.
Game Developers:
I get an overwhelming amount of emails from indie devs asking me to make videos on their games.
So here's what works best: You send one email, steam key included in that email, and no embargoes (if you have one, email me after it has been lifted). I typically don't reply to these emails. I read them, the games I like get added to my bookmarked list of games (this list is a mix of games I found on steam as well as games that devs personally emailed me a key for), and when it's time to record I play whichever one catches my interest that day. I appreciate the hard work you put into making these games for everyone to enjoy. Regardless of whether or not I cover your game, I hope you have great success.
