For the 2025 Sh00t for the Blue event I pulled out the ole Scott Robertson Bike Shot! This event raises funds for the Fort Worth Bike Patrol and they always put on a great event!

Pretty sure my favorite critter is the elk. I think about chasing them all year, and the chase never disappoints! With fewer elk in the area this year and no rut activity yet, I knew it would be tough-but we had an idea of this bulls location based on where he watered. Plan was to slip in and try to locate him. After hours of glassing, I finally caught a glimpse of him at 950 yards away as he stood up out of his bed. A quick, careful sneak, a few bugles, and the distance closed to 375 yards. One perfect shot later, and it all came together!
Heโs a beautiful 6x7 bull scoring 343 5/8 and more than a freezer full โa massive bull and an unforgettable hunt.
The best part was time spent with amazing friends and the BEST family I know. Huge thanks for the hospitality and for sharing your beautiful ranch and home. Blessed beyond words to chase these incredible animals!

We are so thankful for the many loyal people that visit our range or call it their home (Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch). Last week we received recognition from the NSCA for being the 5th highest volume club in the country for the 2024 season!! Itโs an honor to be recognized among some of the finest ranges in the country.
Thanks to everyone that participated in the 796,420 registered targets thrown in 2024!!! Yโall are the best and we look forward to seeing you at our next tournament!
