MS Focus, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, has begun a new series called Roundtable, where individuals who live with or specialize in MS unite to discuss experiences, studies, and concerns within the Multiple Sclerosis community.
In its premiere segment, African Americans & MS, Part I, our moderator and panelists touch upon the subject of how the demographics within their culture have increased percentages of MS diagnoses, and hope in that professionals in the field and Black patients work together to further research and stop MS progression. https://youtu.be/Jit7lh1nr3w
In the segment finale, African Americans & MS, Part II, our moderator, and panelists discuss their hurdles with accessing proper care, proven studies that highlight racial biases in the medical field, and the importance of stepping out to find or create community. https://youtu.be/jIju-kcu2vk
