Purveyor of the Roots Rock Reggae genre, Hempress Sativa, dubbed the "Lyrical Machine," is an international singer, songwriter, & performing artist who hails from Kingston, Jamaica. Raised in a musical household deeply rooted in Rastafarian culture, her sound is a fearless fusion of roots reggae, dub, hip-hop & poetry, delivering militant lyrics, messages of liberation & spiritual consciousness.
She made her groundbreaking debut with Unconquerebel (2017), followed by Scientist Meets Hempress Sativa in Dub (2018), a heavy dub reinterpretation of her works. In (2023) she released Charka, a meditative & powerful body of work exploring the balance of energies & higher consciousness.
Whether commanding festival stages worldwide or recording anthems of rebellion & liberation Hempress Sativa stands as one of the leading voices of her generation, staying true to the roots, while forging her own revolutionary path.
