Donatello, Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Rembrandt or Turner: the names of famous artists are not uncommon in the early modern art history. However, in order to understand what these masters may have contributed to the history of the arts, from the beginning of the Renaissance in the fifteenth century to the end of the Enlightenment in the eighteenth century, it is necessary to place their works in their historical and artistic context, as well as in their social, religious, technical, scientific or philosophical background, taking into account the most recent research, and applying the same critical rigour to the terms used to describe the different artistic periods and analyse the characteristics of their art as that demonstrated by researchers and academics. This channel is dedicated to the presentation of this knowledge and reflection.
