You have to have Jesus in your heart in order to be a peaceful person. Otherwise, the fruit of the spirit which is -Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, self control- are just optional for you and you’ll rarely choose them. You have to actually believe that the highest thing possible (God) wants you to strive for those things daily. This is why atheism usually makes people cynical and mean.

If you put Jesus and loving people at the center of what you’re doing, what you’re doing is going to thrive and prosper. If you put Jesus and loving people on the back burner, you’re going to see yourself taking huge steps backwards from where you want things to be and where God wants them to be.

Put Jesus and loving people right at the center of your heart, your life, your church, your ministry, your focus…and watch God move. After a year of watching the opposite of that destroy lives and ministries and I can tell you the easier road is to put Jesus right at the center of it
