JEE is an extremely hard exam to crack, that too while balancing school, I myself started preparing in advance and still had to skip many events and functions including those of close relatives and family functions, all of this was done in order to increase my focus on studies , simply the time spent studying is not all that matters, what you give up and sacrifice also adds to your overall result, giving up a function gives him more and more discipline which will help him tremendously in his long term preparation
JEE is a truly hard examination, as parents I know you want nothing more than to see your child succeed, so when he tries to work harder and be more disciplined, support him, do not discourage him
This is just a humble request coming from me, I was also in a similar situation having to give up functions and events, and in the end It was all worth it, hence I hope you will let him do the same
