Just a quick note - During the livestream I got an "update" from Chrome - I mentioned that I thought it was weird so held off on it until after the stream to look into it. Usually Chrome will just give a warning in the corner to update and does it "inline" so blocking browsing and having me download it is VERY suspicious behavior. The best thing to do in cases like that is to download the latest version of the browser directly from Google using another browser which is what I ended up doing. My guess is that either Facebook which was open had a shady ad (Beware them - Facebook rejects reports even if links to malware on paid ads) or a recently added ad-blocking plugin was going rogue.
So may have been legit, but why take the risk?
