Part of what makes a Gibson SG great is its no-nonsense simplicity. Mahogany slab, two pickups, basic control scheme... Im not surprised we don’t see a lot of SG Moderns and Supremes out there in the live setting. My question is, are all those *upgrades* actually neat and fun, or is a case of ‘gilding the lily’ as they say?

Attention Gibson guitar nerds… anyone have a 1981 Thumbwheel for a Nashville Tune-O-Matic they’d like to part with? The thumbwheel on the bottom is vintage correct. The one above it is a newer replacement. Reverb has not had the supply… Im trying to get this guitar back up to snuff. Cheers!

In 2010, just 14 years ago, Zzounds offered the Gibson Zoot Suit line of guitars on CLEARANCE for $999. That means they couldn't get rid of them fast enough. The used market now? $4000+.... the second image shows the prices they have sold for. How crazy is that?
