Curious to hear your thoughts on AI related content. What are your thoughts on converted voices? What about cover art? Been hearing and seeing both a lot in the past year and it seems to split opinions pretty hard.
I see the pros and cons both and am unsure where it will actually lead the culture in whole, and I've done a couple AI cover arts (the "dream versions" of Flying High) and also cover arts intentionally against the trend (Let's Mennään, Whaddup and Forever) as most everyone in EDM seem to use AI for cover art these days, but I'm wondering what is the effect at the other end. Makes me think I'd rather make organic and less flashy cover art if tweaking the AI image for an evening to perfect it gives it no value for the viewer (ie. the dream version cover arts took quite a while to fix each area of the image separately, the algorithms are not quite there yet to readily produce great images but I have no idea what you guys thought of them).
Voice conversion is a theme of it's own. It's a bit more work as I need to first try to perfect the vocal myself and treat it properly, which would be the moment when the vocals are normally ready for the mix, but then it needs a transformation process to a new voice at this point and then more manual treating (seems especially transients like "s", "k" and "t" are too hard hitting in some of these voice models which then need to be tamed by hand manually) and of course some more casual processing with EQ and dynamics etc. Another problem with voice conversion is the voice models I've tried pretty much lack nuances and they round out the edginess of the performance. But on the other hand it sometimes helps me in getting stuff done as we don't always have time for recording. Actually we haven't recorded anything in over a year after Katri's solo release "Pinnan Alla" and we gotta change that asap and get some new recording stuff done!
Personally I'm not fond of songs made with AI, they lack the catchy hook and the melodies seem to be mediocre averages (the algorithms probably do an estimate/average of melodies so it kind of fits) but of course they are evolving all the time. The main problem is it takes away the process of creating. Or at least I'm not a writer so I don't find writing prompts that much of a creative process, which would reward me the same way as working a week or a month* on a song in a process that I feel I excel myself at and then getting it finished and released to the world.

What are your thoughts? No matter if vocals are rendered from my voice as long as there are new songs coming out, or it plainly sucks exactly because of that? Cover art doesn't matter as long as the song is good, or is it as important of a piece in the puzzle and should be part of the art experience?

Got a new song "Let's Mennään" out today on all streaming platforms and a lyric video coming out later today! It's our first song in Finnish but no worries, there's new English stuff on the work desk too :)
According to our poll the lyric videos are the second most wanted thing to this channel, so we are glad to have a lyric video this time around! (despite being in Finnish ofc, but thinking of making an English version of the song too)

There's a word out there the system is borked and if we say we are not pewdiepie or markiplier or jackscepticeye and our channel is not about Minecraft or K-pop (well not directly at least) but mainly about dance music, we may get more views with the page.
