Here is a Quick Graphic for tomorrow's snow risk. Possibly more than 5cm in higher ground in the purple zone locally!

Don't forget to share all snow pics/reports tomorrow.

Amber Warning of Wind has just been issued, stretching up from Cornwall through to Eastern England, including London.

Winds up to 80mph on coasts and possibly as high as 70mph inland possible this afternoon, though the majority within the Amber Warning will see gusts of 50-60mph. Stay safe all!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Those across Northern Scotland, especially 150-200m ASL can expect snow today, making it a White Christmas. Accumulation up to 10cm possible, roughly in line with the model chart posted below.

Otherwise, hope everyone enjoys their Christmas.

I've been nominated for "Weather YouTuber of the Year" at the '2023 Weather Awards'. It's all a bit of fun, but feel free to vote for me here:

(The YouTube section is around 3-4 slides in)

Otherwise, hope everyone is enjoying their festive season and I will probably make another Christmas forecast in the next day or two.

Latest detailed video on cold/snow chances over the UK in the next few weeks

You may have seen some model output like this floating around, showing the risk of colder weather at the end of November. While uncertainty is high, the early signs are somewhat promising for a period of colder or perhaps wintry weather - full details in the latest video!

Latest model runs indicate slightly increased chances of a cold spell around the end of this week as opposed to last night's update - with higher confidence further North (mainly Scotland). The snow risk is still very small, and if the mentioned cold spell does occur the main interest will be snow showers across northern areas, generally across higher ground.

What would be of more interest would be is what some the ECM and GFS models show for later Nov, which is a colder NE airflow. This would bring a snow risk - but same as last night - there is far too much uncertainty for any of those model outputs to be taken seriously at this time, especially considering the lack of agreement remaining between models even for less than a week away. More detailed video coming Monday but no update tonight as the changes in the forecast can just be summed up here.

#StormDebi expected to bring some pretty strong winds to Southern areas of Northern Ireland tomorrow during the morning and afternoon. Wind gusts of 60-65mph inland can be expected, with places on the coasts seeing 75mph.
