The first batch of tomatoes have made it to the stores for $24.99 a bushel which is 50lbs and I would have purchased some today but I didn't like the looks of them, and so I will likely go to the farms this weekend...YEAH!!!!

I have a very successful herb harvest this year, but then I have always had good luck with herbs. The Parsley is doing great, I have some drying on trays, The Lavender was harvested earlier, dried and then I made lavender sachets. Today I picked two large bundles of Thyme, and one of Sage and they have now been hung to dry.

I did take everyone's advice and purchased a few more of these. I do have a few mediocre flashlights around the home, but these provide a good deal of light, as well as being rechargeable. At $3.99 each and with my 10% discount and NO TAX...this was a GREAT BUY!

After watching that train wreck, my honest assessment is that the D's knew exactly what they were doing to allow that debate to proceed, because for whatever reason they are ready to move on..Now is the time to be vigilant! I don't know what the next few weeks will bring....but my advice is be prepared for just about anything!!! God help us all!

Yes, Costco now has Mason Jars that are inexpensive if you don't mind the fact that they are made in China..They just placed a sticker on the bottom of each jar, and once you have washed them, and that sticker peels off there will be no identifying marks. hmm...Just noticed the HECHO EN CHINA is Spanish, so there is an English Spanish and French "made In china" label. I guess that covers the North American Market!

My Lavender, Sage, Camomile, Rhubarb and Horseradish are the ones doing the best so far, The Irises have bloomed and faded for the year, and the Comfrey is over 4 ft tall and attracting lots of bees.

I decided to take a drive yesterday, and came upon a "contents sale" which is usually much better than yard sales, so I stopped for a look_see. They didn't have anything that I wanted or collected...BUT they did have this amazing toaster collection...It actually belongs in a toaster museum somewhere. The pictures don't do this justice, there had to be twice as many toasters as I'm able to post in 5 pictures. some are very beautiful!

Freeze Dried Watermelon...I gave Mark a piece to sample and he had a big smile and stated that it tasted exactly like watermelon, but the texture was different.
