A couple of years ago I set up a Telegram channel in anticipation that Russia was going to block You Tube. At this point it was my understanding that You Tube was being throttled in Russia, but I now see in many areas it is totally blocked, so I might be too late already. Anyhow, the address of my American in Russia Telegram channel is: t.me/americaninrussia Please join. I'll continue to post on You Tube and also Telegram, though I've heard rumors that Telegram is the next scheduled social site to disappear here in Russia. Anyhow, please join my Telegram website.

To my Dear Subscribers,
I usually (lately) try to post a new video every Thursday or Friday, but this week the video will be several days late (Sorry!). I've had some hospital type issues to take care of (scheduled stuff) over the past 5 days. Everything is now fine and I'll continue with my next video. I like the topic and I hope you will also.

I would like to thank all of my subscribers. Today I hit more than 1000 subscribers. I posted a video two days ago explaining some changes I wanted to make on my channel. As a way to measure how effective the changes are I set a goal of 1000 subscribers and a minimum of 1000 views. Well, I'm blown away. In less than 2 days I went from 261 subscribers to more than 1060. I've had more than 12000 views so far on that video.
Mind you, I know this wasn't because of anything I did, but because somehow I hit the algorithm. So many of you saw my video in your recommendations and clicked on it. Thank you so much for this. In the future I'll do what I can to earn your views. So, I welcome all of my new subscribers and thank my 261 subscribers for being so patient and sticking around with me.

I'll release a new video within the next week. We've been busy getting our daughters enrolled in universities, which of course can be a bit of a stressful process. Part of this time has been back and forth train trips between home and Moscow. The train can be nice and gives you time to ponder your thoughts. I'll leave you with a photo of that type of moment.

Today I posted a new video concerning Russian superstitions. I was thinking of doing a small series on this topic, as Russians have so many superstitions. Do you think this might be interesting?

One of my daughters is always telling me how "Cringy" my thumbnails are. Today I posted my new video called "Changing Russian Housing" . She told me again this morning how cringy it was. This time I remembered how artistic she is and I roped her into making me a new thumbnail. I liked it. What do you think? The image my be cut off, if so, just go to the link and see it.

I'm having a great time on my trip, including warm sunny weather in Florida. Now I'm up north; not so warm. When I get home I'll go through my piles of new video and post one. I even saw a rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Port. So, I've now checked that off my bucket list.

Sorry it's been almost a month since my last video. within the next week or so I'll be collecting and then editing video showing some ways that the Russian New Years is celebrated along with a small tour of the city's decorations. I'll include some of my own celebration. I messed up my back a little bit so I've been experiencing some down time. Thanks for your patience and it'll be rewarded in the next week.

I have lived in Russia for 20 years and have a lot of knowledge about life in Russia, how people live in Russia, Homes in Russia, Russian schools, raising children in Russia, Russian food, travel in Russia, Russian people, Russian customs and just about anything else you can think of concerning Russia. Living for 20 years in an area of the world can give you a different perspective on life there than you would have during a short stay.
For now, one new video per week, released on Saturdays
