Obon is a festival of Buddhist in Japan.
In many parts of Japan, it is the period from August 13th to 15th or 16th.
During this term, the spirits of ancestors are said to return, and various events, including memorial services, visits to graves, and some kinds of festivals are held, with dances, the street stalls and so on.
Many people who live away from their hometowns return home during this period.
Originally, Buddhism believes that a person's soul is reborn after death, but in many Japanese sects, combined with the ancient Japanese belief in ancestors, memorial services for ancestors are held during Obon.
And it is one of the most important events of the year for Japanese Buddhists.
