Thailand International Jazz Conference (TIJC) is a jazz music event initiated in 2009 by Mahidol University College of Music, aimed at presenting top quality jazz music to the public and also offering jazz education to the interested musicians (both students and general publics). To achieve our aim, TIJC is held in the university venue and consists of three main elements, i.e., music performance (evening concert), Jazz Education Activities (workshop / masterclass during the daytime), and jazz solo competition (late afternoon).
So far, TIJCs have been held for two last consecutive years in 2009 and 2010. The event featured concerts and workshop by leading jazz artists from many places, including Aaron Goldberg, Rich Perry, Tiger Okoshi, Ron Miles, Eric Gunnison, Reginald Veal, and many others. In addition, we also have the jazz improvisation competitions, which are opened both for general professional jazz musicians (open division) and students (junior division).
