We are Paul Mertodikromo, Artoetianti Martokarijo and Trisjony Irokromo, and together we are Tangi Turu!
Driven by our Surinamese-Javanese pride, we are eager to share our musical creations, aiming to encourage other Surinamese-Javanese people to create contemporary Javanese music and expand Pop Jawa.
In this way, we can simultaneously motivate and inspire each other to keep the Javanese language alive within the younger generations.
What does Tangi Turu mean? In Javanese, it means “Rise,” “Awaken from your sleep,” “Wake up!” A meaning that resonates with the drive of Tangi Turu!
