This is known as 'feelings wheel' and is a fantastic tool in helping individuals develop their vocabulary around verbally expressing emotions. When we know how to express ourselves through more words and can acquire a deeper understanding of those feelings we become more confident in understanding who we are as individuals.

Disability discrimination persists subtly in society, often disguised as oversight or misunderstanding. Microaggressions, like assuming incompetence or ignoring accessibility needs, marginalize individuals.

Workplace barriers, such as inaccessible environments or biased hiring, limit opportunities. Social attitudes sometimes frame disabilities as burdens, fostering exclusion. Even well-meaning comments can patronize, undermining autonomy.

Systemic issues, like inadequate healthcare or education access, compound inequities. For neurodiverse individuals, subtle discrimination might include dismissing sensory needs or misinterpreting behaviors.

Addressing this requires awareness, inclusive policies, and challenging stereotypes to ensure equal respect and opportunities, recognizing the diverse strengths and contributions of people with disabilities.

The fight-or-flight response is the body's automatic reaction to perceived danger, triggering a surge of adrenaline to either confront (fight) or escape (flight) the threat.

For a neurodiverse person, this response can be heightened or triggered by sensory overload, social stress, or unexpected changes.

The nervous system may interpret non-threatening stimuli—like loud noises or crowded spaces—as danger, leading to intense reactions such as meltdowns, withdrawal, or aggression.

Understanding this helps tailor calming strategies, like sensory breaks or safe spaces, to support emotional regulation and reduce distress effectively.
