Welcome to the oldest incorporated city in western Canada. The beginning of the New Westminster Museum and Archives is found in 1950, when the City purchased Irving House, one of the oldest homes in Metro Vancouver. In 1964, an additional building was erected to house the growing collection.
Since the beginning, a number of dedicated people have worked hard to ensure that the rich heritage of the City is preserved for present and future generations by collecting an ever-growing number of artifacts and documents of every kind.
