I Rit dyed micarta scales off of my Militaw last night. Looking pretty slick!!
The micarta was turning too dark through use for my taste. I heavily scrubbed it clean and soaked it overnight in bleach, scuffed it with 400grit prior to dying. Trying to lighten it as much as possible.
It was in the pot for about 45 seconds using tropical teal and turned into a beauty!

Do you ever attach your knife to your pack straps while hiking? I did this weekend for the first time with the petrified fish beluga and, I must say, it worked surprisingly well...

The "premium" knife has landed! I can confirm it is either the Lionsteel M4 or the Brisa Trapper 115, which one do you think? Side note:
July is always the busiest month for me so I only have a reiterated short to post. I have a list of videos to work through however and this new knife will definitely be coming soon! ✌️

Instead of getting a Joker knife I've decided to pull the trigger on a "premium" knife this time. I've been eyeing these two for years... Which one should I get?

Which would you choose? I'm looking to get a ~3inch blade with a full handle for hiking, camping, edc purposes, and some bushcraft ,etc. that has a kydex sheath and stainless steel blade ($100-$150 CAD). If you have other recommendations let me know in the comments!

2+ years later and the survival hut still stands...
All of my free standing shelter builds have stayed standing after two years with no maintenance. The techniques used really work!

When I go into the forest, it only takes me a few minutes to find signs of wild animals.
You may rarely see them, but they are there.
Always Be Prepared.
