Players should maintain a safety margin away from the side lines thus encouraging deep, aggressive play through the length of the court.

Our belief is that the distance is determined by the skill level of the athlete. Lower tiered players might use approx 1.5 meter margins, mid tiered players approx 1m and pro athletes approx. 0.5m but also it is situational and could vary depending on the incoming ball and the court position of the player when they hit it.
