In this episode, we explore the climactic battle for the German Crown in medieval times. Two contenders, each with their knights, faced off in a decisive showdown. Joining us is local battlefield expert Andreas Kerner, guiding us through the very fields where over 6,000 war horses fell silent. Witness the epic tale of knights and kings, as history unfolds on the battlegrounds of Germany.

WE Played a Victor Phonograph......
..... LIVE on the Radio!!!!!... πŸ˜ƒ πŸ™‚ πŸ™ƒ !!!!!.....

- Today was one of the Happiest History Nerd Days I've had in a while.... ... Our Podcast "Chasing History " is recorded Live every Thurs on Mixx 105.5 on our local morning drive show w/ Steve Hartford & Jay Adams

We just got a Victor Victrola Phonograph (Ca. 1905) Fully Restored & the guys invited me to play it on air....... & MAN Was I Excited!!!!..... HAHAHA...

- Music on the Radio started Just like this, & then moved to live inhouse bands, then equipment was developed to play m usic directly onto the radio.... But FIRST.... This is how it was done... a microphone next to a phonograph......

- This probably hasn't been done on the radio in 90 years....... & it was SO FREKIN AWESOME!!!!!.....

We played.....

Dixe Jass Band, Livery Stable Blues, Recorded Feb 26 1917 in NyNy (The First Comerical Jazz Record) recorded when it was called Jass & not Jazz

Jesse Coat, The Virginia Moonshiner, Recorded Aug 29, 1929 in Richmond Indiana (later recorded by Johnny Cash on Folsom Prison album

Glenn Miller Band, In the Mood recorded 1944

- A Link will be in the comments to our Podcast episode where you can listen.... and soon we will have a video up on our YouTube channel!

BIG HUGE Thanks to the guys for letting this History Nerd Hijack the Airwaves to play a phonograph!!!... and to Mr. Brett Hart for his restoration work!...

This was SO AWESOME!!!...... hahaha...

This is why......

This is the coolest thing I've ever found hidden behind a photograph!!!.... if only this artifact could talk but it's so cool that this has been hiding for nearly 180 years only now seeing the light of day so that it can tell it's story..... this is the kind of artifacts that I love I absolutely love these surprises that you get and why you always examine the entirety of an artifact because you never know what you might discover

So....... We ATE .... Woolly Mammoth Meat!.......

Let me explain.... πŸ˜„ 🀣 πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜„ 🀣 πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜†

- I picked up a Left Real Leg of a Woolly Mammoth ( Mammuthus primigenius) from the Indigirka River basin of Siberia, Russia.... age Aprox
20,000 years old....... What was SO EPIC.... is that it STILL Had Orgional Mammoth Muscle Tissue Attached to the leg!!... ....... How is that Possible???

- During the Ice Age when some Mammoths died they fell into boggy or swampy ground.... slowly rotting.... when winter hit what was left would freeze and become buried..... because that ground lay permanently Frozen (permafrost) the organic material did not Rot and stayed intact until today..... Now, because of man made climate change, the permafrost is melting.... on top of that, people are Placer mining the Arctic....
Google frozen Ice Age Animals discovered or YouTube it... i will include a video in the comments.... this is exposing animals that have been frozen for tens of thousands of years!!...

...... So..... I Bought one of these Specimens w/ muscles still atached for the Smoky Mountain Relic Room..... and since it's now mine........
Why Not Eat It!!!.........

.... So I talked some of My Brotherhood of Dinosaur Diggers (Minus Aamon Jaeger who now Regrets his life choices in not partaking in Mammoth Meat) ..... Into Eating a Piece with me.. πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜†

..... SO...... We Actual Frozen Mammoth Meat...
This Actually Happened..... Watch the Video in my Reels or FB Story......

- Now... For the Rest of my Life (& My Brave Companions Minus Aamon) We can Say.......... For a FACT...... That we have Eaten Mammoth Meat!....... & It Tastes like Shit!.... πŸ˜„ 🀣 πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜„
I DO NOT Recommend Doing this! ..... Dont try this at Home.... WE... Are Profesional Fossil Hunters Qualified to do Crazy Shit...

πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚

YOU.... Will be Able to View this Amazing Specimen in a Month on Display at the Smoky Mountain Relic Room ..... We will NOT Be giving out samples..... hahaha......

........ You Only Live this life ONCE..... So I Urge you to LIVE .... Do something Crazy!.... because the Story will Last a Lifetime!!....

THIS IS WHY........

- The Hell Creek formation dates to 66 - 65.5 Million Years Old Terminal Cretaceous era .. this is the Very Last Era of the Dinosaurs..... the KT (K-PG) Boundary Layer, which is the Line of Ash from the Meteorite impact that cause the extinction of the dinosaurs closes off this formation.... ITS SO AWESOME to Hunt this formation..... knowing your Hunting the Very Last Dinosaurs to Exist!!!....

- We have found some EPIC Stuff & I am Way Behind on Posts.... but will get everyone caught up soon..... (Not Much Interweb in Montana) lol
