A BIG thank you to everyone who has followed along with our Lake Cumberland houseboat adventures. Our third video just went live on our YouTube channel, and we canât wait to share our vacation that's all about relaxation, adventure, and stunning natural scenery!
We set off from State Dock Marina and explored the lake's most beautiful spots for houseboating, including Indian Creek, Otter Creek, and Beaver Creek. We even got up close to the famous Seventy Six Falls!
But the real highlight of our trip was finding the perfect spot to houseboat camp for several days, where we spent our days fishing and exploring the shores, and our nights relaxing by the fire pit on the top deck of our houseboat.

What a week! We will always remember the first time we explored âThe Houseboat Capital of the World,â after this visit to the Trifecta Houseboats factory. We learned about the history and business of making houseboats, and even got a behind-the-scenes look while folks made them in-action. This weekâs Deep Houseboat Life video just dropped on YouTube! We braved the wind (which you arenât supposed to do on a houseboat), left our slip, and headed to our FAVORITE, private island on Lake Lanier to off-grid houseboat camp. We were lucky it was unseasonably warm, as we love to explore on our Lake Lanier houseboat.
New Starlink, inverter, and lithium ion batteries from Battle Born in tow, we were able to put our new equipment to the test in the cooler, windier months, while also enjoying the serene simplicity of being away from it all as winter turns to spring. Hey houseboating friends! We've been getting lots of questions lately about whether or not we're going to open a swag store for stuff with our logo on it. This is such a fun idea to us! Though, we're unsure if anyone would actually want a coffee mug, coozie, hat, t-shirt, tote bag, etc. with our Deep Houseboat Life logo on it. Jessie and I (Trey) don't believe in the old saying that goes, "the two best days of a boat owner's life are the day they buy their boat and the day they sell it." It's the days in-between that are the happiest. Houseboating is in our soul, and we know it will be integral to the rest of our lives. We've been saving since we realized on our first date in 2013 that we both want an adventurous boat life. I grew up on houseboats as a kid, and Jessie was on board (pun intended) from day one with me. So we're chasing our dreams of a more adventurous life as digital nomads living part time on our houseboat on Lake Lanier, and hope to show you that you can live happy boating days, too.
