Being what you should be looks like a mountain sometimes, and your legs feel weak. You keep making these lofty goals and plans ā you write out long lists about all the things you plan to do ⦠read a juzā every day, memorize this many surahs, learn Arabic grammar, go on Hajj, pray Fajr in the masjid every day, never watch P@#$ again ⦠and Shaytaan sits back and laughs because he knows youāll fall off in a month or two ⦠you always do.
Stop that. Refocus. Instead, just be 1% better. A 1% improvement is feasible. Donāt be fooled ā a steady 1% improvement spread out over a year is tremendous. 1% per day is a 365% improvement. Even 1% a week is still a 52% improvement.
What would life look like if you improved by 7% by next week?

Secretly struggling with eman and being on the Deen?
Let's keep it real ā it happens. The worst thing you can do is continue putting up this public face of being a Super Saiyan Muslim, because in reality, that's draining you. Youāre a person who needs to go on evening walks, not trying to participate in a marathon; this ego face you are putting up is not for Allah, it's for the public, for your family, for the masjid.
If you donāt have at least one person in your life whom you can confide in and trust not to judge you or run and tell other people, then this is part of your problem. I know what Iām talking about. I left the Deen on Dec 11, 2010, and didnāt return until 2018.
Itās time to go back to the basics ā Tawheed, the six pillars of eman, and the five pillars. You have to repair and rebuild the foundation, because obviously something is wrong with it. Pretending is like painting the front door while your basement is flooding.
I donāt know what repairing the foundation looks like for you ā thatās something you will need to work out. Find a person of āilm and work with them. Donāt allow Shaytaan to use your pride and ego against you. If you had chest pains or a broken leg, youād immediately do something about it ā this is more serious than that.

The idea that someone is superior simply due ot being Christian or Jew is colonial era crap ... it originates from Papal bulls, not any prophet or messenger (pbut), it's either ethno-nationalism or dangerously close to it. Worse is thinking you are qualified to instruct other people about subjects you are ignorant of - because you are superior - not due to knowledge, study, intelligence, or righteousness, but solely due to claiming a title or having a particular lineage. So, no, I don't engage with these types about doctrine; first, you need to prove your presuppositions.
