Quick update and a shill:
The Proto-Indo-European video is coming along nicely, you can expect that Sep 1. This was by far one of the most interesting bits of research I've done, and this has actually taken my top spot for misunderstood bad history theories. And I'm in that camp too, I also was incorrect about the crux of the theory, so look out for that one, it's a wild ride where everyone's wrong.
Secondly, as this channel grows I want to be able to do some good with it. Some of this you'll see in the next video (still no Patreon, though you'll see why), but I also want to spread the word about smaller creators I come across as well, helping them out in the same way some larger channels helped me out when I was smaller.
To that end, I'd like to shout out @SouthernSlaveryUncovered, specifically his video covering how trying to run away as a slave got you labeled as mentally ill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgyVX...
His videos are much shorter than mine, but I do like how he presents and digs through sources in his videos.

Hey All,
2 quick things:
1. The winner of the poll was The Differences Between Greek and Roman Gods and deep dive on PIE, so look out for that one next month. As a reminder, all 3 WILL get made, the other two are just further down the list now, but due to interest I did bump the Boudica up (Senecacels, it never even began)
2. I will be switching pts 2 and 3 of the pagan videos over to the fixed versions this weekend, just to keep everything nice and neat. My apologies to the comments on the other versions, but the original videos will remain, just unlisted, and I'll link on the off chance people want to go back for whatever reason.
I'm so glad we have so many new fans, and I cannot wait to give you more deep dives.

Hey All,
As promised, please vote below on what video you'd like for the 10k special. I'll leave this up for a week or two and post the winner next month.
These are all ideas various subscribers have suggested, Elagabalus is very much going to be part of the larger trans roman history video down the line, so I didn't want to give too much away with a smaller video right now.
Note: these will all either become videos in their own right, or part of larger videos, so you're mostly voting on which you'd like to see in late Aug/early Sept. The upcoming schedule is a Sporus video in a month (maybe a bit less, we'll see), then the 10k special, then either the new idea I've been teasing or something else to tide over (depends on how long that research takes). I'll try to get a 'community' going in the next few weeks as well so I can have a roadmap up and people can comment if they'd like to swap the order of things around.

The growth of this channel over the past month has been insane. When I uploaded my first video I never thought it would get more than 100 views. It's currently sitting over 100,000.
I never thought this channel would get any subscribers, yesterday it hit 10k.
From the absolute bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough, the fact you all have enjoyed my content so much means the world to me.
In keeping with my promise, part 3, the final part of the Roman pagan theology series will be up on Monday, after which point I'm going to try to keep my uploads monthly.
I'm thinking of doing a 10k subscriber special, I'll put out a poll in the next few days to see what you all might like, I have a couple of ideas.
I'm going to take a painting class this fall, and if this channel ever hits 100k subs, I'll do a Joy of Painting style live stream where I'll dress like Bob Ross and we'll paint a picture together while I ramble about Roman history.
I also have been really touched by the comments on my politics video, while I actually made it to lose subscribers (well, inform, same difference), it's been very moving to see how many of you resonated with my journey. I've been reading all the comments and it's genuinely been so fun to read everyone's thoughts, I wish I had more time to respond to everyone.
However, just to clarify, and to reassure older fans of the channel, this is not a politically focused channel. I am very much enjoying these deep dives and it's what I plan to continue with for a while. I will probably make a few more political videos here and there, and my deep dives won't always be on Rome, or even ancient history, but the deep dives will still be the bulk of this channel.
Lastly, yes, this is my real hair! I do not perm it, there is no wig, and I am in no way mixed race. It just grows like this. I have no idea how to prove this but here's a few photos, with uncombed bed head and showing my roots. Next video I'm gonna try no green screen so we'll see how that goes.
Again, thank you all for the support, and I'll try to keep the content coming, I really cannot begin to state just how floored I am.

Hey All,
In just a few hours the newest video will be dropping, the first in a 3 part series. We'll be exploring, an incredibly niche passion of mine: Roman pagan theology. How the Romans thought about their gods, and how that changed over time.
The other two parts are mostly done, so yes, that means a somewhat regular upload schedule! For now at least...

Hello all,
I just wanted to shoot a quick update to everyone, and show you my very high-tech setup! I got back home in early June, and have been working away at my next video, which will cover Nero! More specifically how his story was told, and examining evidence that paints a somewhat different picture of him (though this won't be Nero Did Nothing Wrong).
I shot my first pass yesterday, walking away with about 6 hours of footage, so I'll see what it cuts down to. However it does seem like this video won't be significantly shorter than my last one, it's apparently hard for me to make videos shorter than 2 hours.
In the video we'll cover things like Roman poisons, how fires spread, and the importance of easily producible fiat currency. This was so much fun to research, if only because I could freely explore what I felt like, as opposed to tracking down specific and obscure sources.
I hesitate to put out a date as I'm a slow editor, but I already feel bad this has taken me over a month, so I'm trying to be quick. However, summer is my busy season, so my goal is within 2 weeks, but we'll see.
I want to thank everyone so much for their support on my last video, I really was not expecting anyone to care, and I'm frankly humbled by how much you all seem to enjoy watching me go down weird research rabbit holes. Sequels are never as good as the originals, but even I was surprised by what I found in this research, so hopefully you'll get a kick out of it.
