Got out yesterday where I recovered the Virginia button last weekend
And was rewarded a 1820 - 1840 Militia button before the rain set in :)

Dry brush with old toothbrush and let it be. This is the early 1839 pattern with the narrow "U" later war patterns the "U" is the same size till 1874. Very happy with this !
