Are you applying to a ton of cyber security jobs but not hearing back?
Chances are, you are making this simple mistake.
After working in cyber security for over a decade and reviewing tons of resumes, I realized this...
99% of candidates have identical resumes.
I think the main issue is this...
You want a cyber security job, so logically you take to the internet in search of answers.
You get advice from people on what to learn and what skills to put down.
You put in the effort to learn those skills and add them to your resume.
But what you don't account for is that everyone else in your position does the exact same thing.
β Before you know it, you are a carbon copy of the other 1,000 applicants that applied to that entry level job.
So, how can we break out of this?

We need an edge. Something unique that we bring to table, that not everyone has.
My advice is to look for those areas in cyber security that are still high in demand, but less explored.
A couple of examples that come to mind would be LLM Security (AI) and Cloud Security.
Here's the thing though.

There aren't as many refined resources and training paths out there as the common stuff.
