Hello all, just a quick post...Barbara requested a Daschund design..it's quite large 80" X 60" but if you lay the tail down and reduce the background you can make it smaller. Usual 3" blocks and a few snowballs...not too complicated. Have fun!

Happy New Year to you all...here's hoping 2025 brings us lots of quilty joy! My first quilt for the year is a cat 'scrap - buster'...if you have oddments and you have any cat lovers in your life...this might be one for you. The background is made from 3" four patches and the cat is made from multiples of 3"...all details included below. The video showing how I put it all together will air on Saturday 4th 8.00am GMT. My channel is dedicated to making patchwork quilts. I love making unique pieces that are beautiful to look at and hold. They are 'utilitarian' - they are made to be used and loved and all that entails! I don't make patterns or follow them - I prefer to follow my creative instinct but am happy to share that and my process with anyone who is interested. I work in a small space with inexpensive equipment...you really don't need very much to have fun! And you can source fabric at reasonable prices if you look around. Whenever I can I buy natural cottons and products that are recyclable...I mostly use quilt blocks/designs that don't produce very much waste...and the waste I do produce I try to use in other products as fillers etc. Of course there is a cost involved with this passion and to off-set that I have a Folksy shop: Patchwork Quilts with Diane where I sell my bespoke beauties at very good prices.
