🚨 **BREAKING NEWS: Magnus Carlsen Quits Rapid & Blitz Championships Over Dress Code Dispute!** 🚨
In a shocking turn of events, GM Magnus Carlsen has left the 2024 FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship after refusing to change out of his jeans, a violation of FIDE's dress code. He was fined and warned in round six but refused to comply, leading to him not being paired for round nine. Carlsen has also confirmed he won't be playing in the upcoming World Blitz Championship, opting for a vacation instead! 🌴
FIDE issued a statement confirming Carlsen's breach and stated that all players are subject to the same rules. Earlier, GM Ian Nepomniachtchi was also fined for a similar violation (sports shoes), but he complied and continued playing.
